Les Paul Guitars Auction Description: NOTE: Anything in the photos that looks like a blem but isn't mentioned in the auction is due to CAMERA FLASH! All blems are mentioned in the listing, thanks! Up for auction is an EXTREMELY RARE 1998 Gibson Les Paul Classic. It is a Custom Shop guitar. I actually contacted a Gibson representative who had worked for them for 10 years, and he said this is only the third one he had heard of, so this guitar isn't a common piece at all. It has an all mahogany top, back & sides, and neck. Cream Binding. Weight is 8.7 lbs. This guitar retails for $4,000.00 new.Not only is this guitar rare, but she plays like a dream! The action is great all the way up the neck, the frets and fretboard show minimal wear, and it plays like butter. This guitar also has a beautiful sound. Has that great sustain you'd expect from a USA Gibson Les Paul. The Humbuckers are both patent pending. All Electronics are original. In fact, every little screw is original! The guitar does have a couple of minor dings here and there. There are 2-3 max on the top, and the worst one is in pic #6, and as you can see it is very minor. I couldnt get the others to show up in pictures. The couple of small dings on the back are in pic #7. There are your scratches from normal play. Outside of that, everything is great on this piece.
