These marks are not into the wood and did not break the paint. The slim 60's neck is great and easy toplay, nice smooth and fast neck. The case is as new. The specs from Gibson for this model: A gigging man's Les Paul with '60s slim-tapered neck and coil-splithumbuckers.Taking design and visual cues from the Les Pauls of the '80s and '90s, the LesPaul Traditional Pro features BurstBucker 3 and '57 Classic pickups withcoil-splitting, '60s neck profile, Grover locking tuners, antique binding,period-correct pickguard, vintage Gibson top hat knobs, and the revolutionaryPlek set up.With all the fat, sweet, snarling Les Paul tone that purists love, the newGibson Les Paul Standard Traditional Pro sports a mahogany bodywith a thick maple cap for the perfect blend of warmth and clarity. The top isfinished in high-gloss lacquer, while the back, sides, and neck have a smoothsatin finish that feels great and lets the wood resonate fully. Each Les PaulTraditional also comes with Gibson USA's standard black snakeskin case. Locking Grover tuners keep your Les Paul in tune like you will not believe. Period-Correct PickguardThe creme-colored pickguard has been a Les Paul staple dating back to themodels of the late 1950s and the early 1960s. Many players, however, removedthe pickguard from their Les Pauls to show off the beauty of the flame mapletops, moving Gibson to stop installing the pickguard altogether. During the1980s and 1990s, Gibson began reinstalling the pickguard in the factory, andthe Les Pauls from this era once again arrived in stores bearing the classic,creme-colored pickguard. The Les Paul Traditional comes equipped with aperiod-correct pickguard, designed to protect the maple top.Pickups: Neck - '57 Classic; Bridge - BurstBucker 3Among the qualities that make Gibson's original "Patent Applied For"humbucking pickups so unique are the subtle variations between coil windings. For the first few years of their productions"1955 to 1961"Gibson's PAFhumbuckers were wound using imprecise machines, resulting in pickups withslightly different output and tone. The BurstBucker 3 and '57 Classic Pluspickups are the result of Gibson drive to capture and recreate thischaracteristic. Introduced in 1992, the '57 Classic provides warm, full tonewith a balanced response, packing that classic Gibson PAF humbucker crunch, inspired by those original PAFs that received a few extra turns of wire. Bothare made by Gibson to the exact same specs as the original PAFs, includingAlnico II magnets, nickel-plated pole pieces, nickel slugs, maple spacers, andvintage-style, two-conductor braided wiring. Gibson added poly-coated wiring, which improves consistency by eliminating thick or thin spots on the wiring, and wax potting, which removes all internal air space and any chance of microphonicfeedback. Both pickups offer coil-splitting for single-coil sounds viapush/pull switching in the volume controls. Coil Tapping The bridge and neck pickups can each be split via their own push/pull switch on the volume knob to achieve a single-coil tone. This coil-tapping function allows you to instantly achieve brighter, snappier tones from this humbucker-loaded guitar, to replicate the sounds of other classic guitars equipped with single-coil pickups, and to return to the Les Paul Traditional Pro's thick, warm, powerful, full-humbucking tone at the push of a knob.Tuning Keys The headstock of the Les Paul Traditional Pro is equipped with chrome-plated Grover Locking Keystone tuning keys. With a gear ratio of 14:1, these tuners deliver precision tuning in a durable housing that provides maximum protection for the gear and string post. All moving parts are cut for exact meshing, eliminating the possibility of slippage, with a special lubricant inside the gear box for smooth and accurate tuning stability.Revolutionary Plek Set UpThe Les Paul Traditional is the first model from Gibson USA to utilize therevolutionary Plek machine in setting up the guitar. The Plek is a German-made,computer-controlled machine that carefully measures each fret, along with thefingerboard height under each string, and then automatically dresses each fret, virtually eliminating string buzz and greatly improving the overall playabilityof the guitar. This pioneering process does in minutes what it takes a luthierseveral hours"sometimes even days"to accomplish. Every fret is accuratelyaligned, and the guitar is properly intonated, leaving the instrument "Plek'd"and amazingly playable.Antique BindingTo see the process of putting the binding on the Les Paul Traditional is toreally appreciate the effort and attention that Gibson puts into eachinstrument. A lone craftsman will carefully glue and fit two pieces of bindingaround the entire body of a Les Paul. He then winds a single, very long pieceof narrow cloth around the entire body until the entire surface is nearlycovered. The body is then hung to dry for a full 24 hours before it isunwrapped and moved into the next phase of production. It has been done thesame way for over 100 years. Some question the value of adding binding, butGibson believes it is a fundamental part of our rich guitar-making history. Thebinding adds elegance to the Les Paul Standard, and helps protect the edges ofthe body. The neck binding is installed over the fret ends, which eliminatessharp fret edges and provides for a smooth neck and easier playability.Body Style: Non-chamberedTop: Carved mapleBack: MahoganyNeck: Set mahoganyNeck Profile: '60sHeadstock: AngledScale length: 24-3/4"Fingerboard: Bound RosewoodNo. of frets: 22Nut width: 1.69"Inlays: TrapezoidBinding: AntiqueBridge: Tune-O-Matic with stopbar tailpieceTuners: Locking GroverHardware: ChromeBridge pickup: potted BurstBucker 3 humbucker with coil-splittingNeck Pickup: '57 Classic with coil-splittingElectronics: 2 volume with push/pull coil-splitting, 2 tone, 3-way togglepickup selectorKnobs: Vintage Gibson top hatsPickguard: Period-correctCase: HardshellOther: Plek Set-upI will only ship to US Continental address only, please do not bid if you areoutside of the Continental US.
