Les Paul Guitars Auction Description: You are bidding on a 2008 (new old stock) Gibson Les Paul Traditional in a super slick nitro ebony finish. For me, this is what comes to mind when I think Les Paul¦ beautiful black finish, chrome hardware, cream binding and trim. I'm not a huge fan of flames and bursts, just a clean black glossy guitar. The guitar is in new condition and has spent the last 20-something months behind glass in a retail shop. Talk about a hard guitar to photograph! The finish is so reflective and deep on this that it was nearly impossible to get photos without everything in the room showing up in the finish. The 57 and 57 plus in this guitar sound outstanding. The neck pickup is so creamy on lower volumes it will make a ES-335 jealous. Dial up the volume and it's like night and day difference with all the snarl and bite you could ever want for that classic rock/hard rock tone. If that isn't enough, switch to the bridge for the screaming lead tone you want. If you know anything about Les Paul's, you know that you could pick-up 10 of the exact same model and no two will sound or play alike. This one definitely has it¦ nice chunky neck, comfortable (but fast) action and awesome tone. I typically don't like the 57 pickups but I find myself wanting to play the neck on the clean channel¦ awesome jazz tones and I'm not a big traditional jazz guy. It's not a one trick pony either¦ does the rock and roll thing well and everything in between. Amazingly versatile guitar. Nothing sterile about the sound here. The guitar is in new condition with one very minor thing to mention. The top of the peg head (G string side) on the very top has a slight rub that is about the size of Abe's forehead on a penny. It doesn't appear that the finish is missing, just a slight rub mark from what I could tell. Could come out with polish but I'd rather not try it personally. It's very minor in comparison to the beauty of this guitar. Still by far better condition than anything on the wall at the local Guitar Center!The factory case is like new and all the goodies are inside.
