Le Paul Guitar Auction: 1998 Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop Quilt Cherry One Off!

1998 Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop Quilt Cherry One Off! Les Paul Guitars Auction Description: For auction is a 1998 Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop with the Gibson Custom hardcase. If you love Gibson guitars or know someone who has been looking for a very special one for the holidays look no further. You will not find another one like this, this is it a true one off. Hands down this is one of the most impressive tops I have seen done by the Gibson Custom Shop folks. Amazing attention to details and check out that finish, cherry quilt maple top with cream binding. I spoke with a Gibson Rep because I thought the pick ups might be aftermarket but he said that most likely this one is all original. The rep said the custom shop builders will often just come up with an idea and roll with it for a one off. All the solder work is clean and electronics work perfectly. The pick ups are Alnico 2 Seymour Duncan Phat Cats. If you are not familiar with them they are a P- 90 that is fitted in a humbucker shell. I love this combo because for one Gibson does not have anything like this in regular production so it makes it really unique but besides that the pick ups are awesome. I had some GFS Mean 90s installed on a SG but the Phat Cats are for sure a step above when it comes to tone. We're talking really big and fat type tone and actually I think they are a bit warmer than the stock burstbuckers and for sure the ceramic 490 set. For the players concerned with noise, SD has these really well shielded so you get none of that unwanted interference. It's a player through and through. I just tested it out through my 5150 and marshall and it screams. The bridge is the best for heavy rock riffs but again with a bit more mids. I think all the Jazz and Blues players will love the sound of the neck pup p90 with this unchambered mahogany body, tone is simply classic rich Gibson style all the way. It's in very good condition with the normal wear; minimal fret wear and the factory fret job is superb, has some picking scratches on the front with a couple pin sized dings, rosewood board looks mint, back of the body has the same minimal wear as the front with a couple more tiny dings, headstock has slight wear on the back. Again this is all very minimal but I like to really describe the guitar as accurate as possible but I think if you got a pro clean up on a buffing wheel most of the wear would buff out. Grover tuners are nice and smooth. To check out my entire inventory google recyclerock guitars. America, I will only ship this via USPS Global Express mail.
