Theinstrument was then aged to the 'Played, But Loved' level. All of the hardwareand plastic parts, including the Kluson tuners, volume and tone pots and knobs,toggle switch, and jack input, have been meticulously aged and relic'd. The 'LesPaul' logo has been carefully rubbed and faded. The fingerboard edges have beenslightly rolled. Roy and Billy at RS do real checking, cracking, and fading of thefinish on the body without the use of razor blades. R7s have a chunkiest neckof the Historic Reissues (which gives them their massive tone), but the rolledbinding makes this neck play like butter. It is woody, breathy, with an accentuated lower mid-range andvery smooth and mellow top end. With the relic'ing/aging and upgrade in electronics,this guitar is a convincing recreation of a '57 Goldtop, both aesthetically andtonally. It weighs approximately 9 lbs 2oz.It comes with the original Custom Shop hard case.
