Les Paul Guitars Auction Description: Incredible Guitar! Started out as a 2008 Les Paul Custom Shop 57 Reissue Goldtop. Weighing Only 9 pounds! Then the top was stripped and refinished with a Sunburst, just like what was used back in 1958-1960, "The Les Paul Standard Sunburst". It was fairly common for those Hippies to strip their goldtop and have them sunburst, which was THE color then! The red under the Pickguard is still there and much brighter. This guitar was done with the same type of stains and has been fading over the last year. Then a very thin Nitrocellous Finish was applied, so that the guitar could resonate at it's Best. She was also upgraded with Seymour Duncan Pickups, The neck is a SH-2N Jazz and the bridge a SH-4 JB. That's when I got her!"Available in both neck and bridge models. Often a Jazz neck is paired with an SH-4 JB (Seymour's favorite combination) or SH-5 Duncan Custom in the bridge position for diverse tones." I took over adding the ageing and TonePros Locking Studs to the Tailpiece and Two sets of Thumbwheels to the Bridge for added Strength and Sustain. Try and find a burst with this dark a back, I have never seen one! This is so dark it looks like black. I find that Les Pauls of 9 pounds or less have the best tone. Not chambered or weight relieved they sound good but not as good as a solid body.
