Les Paul Guitars Auction Description: New PageUnplayed / Mint Collectors 2000Gary MooreLes PaulLemon BurstSignature GuitarI'm holding this auction for a good friend of mine who used to be an avid guitar player/collector. Now he's thinning out his collection and has asked me to help him do that. Being I take my 100% positive feedback rating very seriously and value it highly, I personally assure potential bidders this auction meets my stringent quality and ethical standards. The following information is provided by him:===============================================THIS GUITAR IS UNPLAYED EXCEPT BY GARY MOORE HIMSELFThis auction is for my very rare, 2000 Gibson Les Paul Gary Moore Signature Serial # 022303058 Flame Top, Lemonburst guitar. Made for only two years, 2000 & 2001, this guitar is everything you want from a Les Paul and more. As you can see in the picture and per the serial number; this guitar was crafted on Friday 11 August 2000. CONDITION:If you missed buying one of these back in 2000/ 2001 you missed a unique, once in a lifetime opportunity to own a now, exceedingly rare piece of legendary hardware. I am the first and only owner of this beautiful instrument and this auction represents a serious player or collector's rare opportunity to own this one of a kind guitar. I'm not a dealer; this comes out of my own collection. This instrument has never been played except by Gary himself. Since Moore inspected and played every one of these limited edition guitars he was the last to play this one. The case and guitar are in the same condition as they were when they left the factory in 2000. DETAILS:Gary Moore wanted his signature guitar to be versatile, yet striking in appearance. The body is made from a single piece of South American mahogany. It is not chambered, so it has plenty of heft like a true Les Paul should. It has a beautiful AA flame maple top, and NO binding. That's different -- Gary wanted this to appear different than other Les Paul's, and it was his call to make. The body is finished in a thin nitro-cellulose, and the color is different than anything else Gibson has ever made. This guitar is based on Fleetwood Mac's Peter Green 1959 "Greeny" LP and only a limited number were produced from 2000 to 2001. It is a very subtle burst from lemon to a hint of cherry, and referred to as a "Lemonburst". Also, at Gary's request, these guitars did not come with a scratch plate installed. They came with one in the case (with his signature on it), but you can install it if you want to. Insured for $3000 minimumOn Mar-09-11 at 07:23:46 PST, seller added the following information:DESPITE WHAT I MISTAKENLY STATED IN THE ANSWER TO PREVIOUS QUESTION, THIS GUITAR IS NOT HAND-SIGNED BY GARY.On Mar-09-11 at 12:03:06 PST, seller added the following information:Guitar comes with all original paperwork to include:INSPECTION TAG, FACTORY TAG, & ALL ORIGINAL PAPERWORK.----------------"Opinions, interpretations and statements made by the seller concerning this guitar are based on a "Guitar Industry magazine" article/interview (2000) with Gary Moore concerning the release of his Signature guitar. In that article Gary discussed the motive, philosophy, quality control and engineering with the Gibson design team at the Gibson factory in Nashville, TN. The guitar's owner has verified with the Gibson help desk (as of 9 Mar 11) all still available facts relating to manufacturing, length of production run and serial number. The production run of these limited edition guitars was 1 year from approx July/Aug 2000 -July 11, 2001. The listed guitar was made on Aug 11, 2000 and was the 58th guitar made that day at the Nashville plant. The seller is responsible for answering all questions regarding details and is available AD HOC for serious buyer questions. On Mar-09-11 at 15:22:23 PST, seller added the following information:Because of consistent insistence and circumstantial evidence suggesting that Gary Moore did not actually play this guitar and the circumstantial evidence firmly suggesting he did, I will once again modify the listing above, ex post facto,to fall more in line with what my ethics dictate I do:This guitar is unplayed. Because that is fact, it is very likely the last person to play this guitar is either some Gibson employee or perhaps Gary Moore himself. How can I say this?? Via telecon, Gibson verbally states that Mr Moore was at the factory during the initial production of his signature guitar and actually took it upon himself to personally play numerous pieces off the line. So, since this guitar was built due to a "custom order request", and was verifiably built very early in the initial production of these guitars, it is conceivable Gary Moore played this guitar. On Mar-13-11 at 11:09:01 PDT, seller added the following information: For CONUS S/H purposes, the origin zip code will be in the Colorado Springs, CO area 80918
