Les Paul Guitars Auction Description: 1963 Gibson SG Les Paul Junior Up for auction is a 1963 Gibson SG Les Paul Junior. This is a players condition guitar with finish checking, nicks, and dings. Cherry Finish, Serial number 105XXX, wrap around tailpiece, Mahongay Body and neck, Nickel hardware, and Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard. A nice light weight and resonant guitar and 5 and 3/4 pounds. The guitar has a very nice sounding P-90 pickup. The original electronics appear to be untouched (see cavity picture below). The P-90 pickup reads 8.37 ohms at the jack. The guitar once had other tuners installed (most likely Grovers) and the previous owner put on a newer set of Kluson tuners for that original look. The guitar also has a headstock repair behind the nut. The repair is solid with no movement. The repairman oversprayed the repair area with some cherry finish. There are no neck body joint cracks on the guitar.The original frets,nut, knobs, and pickguard are intact. There appears to be three newer screws on the guitar. Guitar comes with a newer Road Runner Case. This a great guitar for the player after that vintage Junior tone without the high price tag.
