Les Paul Guitars Auction Description: 1989 Gibson Les Paul Standard with a really nice neck profile right between a 60's and 50's neck. Nice guitar in beautiful Cherry Sunburst Burst finish. If you know much about Les Paul's, you know that they can vary wildly in tone and no two are the same. You can go through 50 and find one or two that just have 'it' and the rest are mediocre. This guitar definitely has it. I've plugged it in and played it in front of a couple different friends that have played for years and both immediately said the same thing... "wow that thing sounds awesome". It's by far the best sounding Paul I have played, with exception to a $5000 custom shop 59 reissue.The guitar plays excellent and has an amazing tone from the Bill Lawrence HB-R and HB-L pickups. The pickups have great versatility with stunning clarity for jazz and large amounts of swat for that classic rock and even does the modern stuff great as well. It weighs 8.5lbs on the bathroom scale! The guitar ships in the factory mint chainsaw case that is in perfect condition with a cool blue lining. The guitar is in amazing condition for being an 89. I cannot find any dings anywhere on the guitar. If there is fret wear you would need a microscope to find it. The only flaws to mention are some light scratches on the back (not impressions or buckle marks, just normal light scratches that only show in a super bright light). The bottom edges have a couple rub marks (see photo) that have been touched up and I didn't even notice them until I did a close inspection for this listing. Overall the guitar is very, very nice and looks new on most accounts. Never any breaks or repairs. I require payment within 48 hours in terms of Paypal Instant Transfer.
