Les Paul Guitars Auction Description: 1962 Gibson Les Paul/SG Standard w/ PAFsUp for auction is my very early 1962 Les Paul Standard. This guitar is pretty much completely original except for the ABR-1 bridge and the nut. It has a TonePros ABR-1 on it and a newer bone nut. The 7th fret inlay appears to have been replaced a LONG time ago. This guitar was refretted a long time ago, and recently dressed. It plays very, very well with low action and perfect intonation on a straight neck. Yes, that is Brazilian rosewood. :) This guitar has no breaks or repairs at the headstock or heel. For this guitar to have so much playing wear and to not have snapped at the headstock or heel means that it is a very solid specimen. There are various nicks and dings throughout which I have tried to capture well, in addition to a repaired crack at the input jack and a very, very, very tiny surface crack on the upper left (low E side) horn. These are pictured as well. The pickups are original "Patent Applied For" PAFs--the neck measures 7.6K, and the bridge measures 7.8K. They appear to have never been out of the guitar. Original Centralab pots and caps work flawlessly and are very fast. The original pickguard is slightly warped (like all of the old ones), and the original sideways vibrola has some tarnish and wear on it...I'm sure it could be buffed out to look brand new. The case is all intact, and all of the latches work. The case is a good candidate for a restoration, as it has significant wear as well. All in all, we have here a nearly completely original unbroken early '62 Les Paul Standard with original case. NO RESERVE. Bid early, and bid often. :) Please contact me with any and all questions. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. If you have 3 or more negative feedbacks or a feedback rating of "0", you must contact me before bidding. Otherwise, I may cancel your bid and block you from further bidding. If you would like to discuss the guitar, please send me a message with your phone number. Thanks, and good luck! These pots and caps are original, and they've never been desoldered from the guitar. I wish to stress again that they work perfectly and silently, which is pretty surprising, given their age. Totally virgin PAFs, too. Covers have never been off, so I don't know what color the bobbins are. On May-04-11 at 21:59:51 PDT, seller added the following information:
