Les Paul Guitars Auction Description: This is an outstanding 2003 R8 Les Paul Historic Flametop. All original except Sheptone PAF reissues that sound fantastic. Case in good condition. Tons of case candy including original invoice and shipping info from Gibson. This guitar has been played, but not abused. Minor dings on the front and elsewhere. Headstock veneer has small chip on top right corner (see pic). The hardware is slightly distressed, and looks every bit a great condition vintage guitar. Original frets are in great condition. Original pickguard in case. Original pickups not included. The dark verticle lines you see in the neck and headstock pictures are the natural grain in the Mahogany, stunning! Never any cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. Enough about condition, it's how this guitar sounds and plays that is important. This guitar is NOT weight relieved, but at 8lbs 13 oz on my digital postage scale, it is an incredibly warm piece of wood. The heavily carved flame maple top adds air to the mix, and the nicely thick 58 style neck is also responsible for a part of the beefy tone..
