Les Paul Guitars Auction Description: You are bidding on Gibson 1957 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue VOS with dark back. This guitar has been played sparingly and aside from the VOS treatment (light patina on the nickel hardware, slightly dulled finish and factory made wear spots) is in the same condition as when it came out of the box. Cosmetic details: The guitar has the rich goldtop and dark back combination. The VOS treatment was created to replicate a guitar that has been played but been well cared for for many years. The fretboard is a beautiful dark brown. The "wear" on this guitar is: slight patina on the nickel hardware and pickup covers, sligth wear marks on the headstock and a few marks on the sides and finish swirls on the back; just like a 50 year old guitar.Playing condition: The guitar is the perfect les paul weight, 9.05 pounds on a digital postal scale. The frets have been pleked at the factory and have no wear. The action is medium low and very playable with no buzzing. The neck is beefy as you would expect from a 50's profile, but not as big as some. I think it is very comfortable. The balance on a strap is great.Sounds: I have had the pleaseure to play this guitar through a Marshall half stack wide open, and it sounds huge. It is as chunky as you need for hard rock and as sweet as you need for blues. When played unplugged it has a nice acoustic ring and sustain.
