Les Paul Guitars Auction Description: '02 Gibson USA Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar w/OHSC '02 Gibson USA Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar w/OHSCWelcome bidders, you are bidding on a beautiful piece. This is the '02 Gibson USA Les Paul Standard. 24.75" scale. 1 11/16" nut width. 9.3 lbs. Serial #: 01982508. The Gibson Les Paul has been a huge part of music for the last 50+ years. The reason is simple- nothing else sounds or plays like a Les Paul. This one in particular is a real stunner- look at that top! And, since it is an '02 this baby is not chambered- enabling for some extra 'push' in the tone! This starts off with the tried and true mahogany/maple top combination. This gives you a solid bottom end with some really nice high end mids. The Burstbucker pickups grab this great tone and add that sweet PAF mojo. Perfect crunch off the bridge pickup and syrupy, seemingly endless sustain off the neck pickup. This one actually has one of the best neck tones I've ever heard- just huge and thick. It bears mentioning that the '02 LP's were the first year for the Standard with Burstbucker. The neck is mahogany with the super fast slim taper neck profile. Perfect for easy chordwork and lightning runs. The 60's neck makes you want to go fast. Aesthetically, this Gibby is just drop dead gorgeous- the flame top, the root beer finish w/binding...just amazing. Looks, playability, and sweet tone- what else is there?!?! This beauty is in excellent condition- there are several belt 'indentations' on the back and a couple of small compressions on the top (pics)- nothing that affects the the tone or playability whatsoever. The frets are very good- just professionally setup with action of 3/32" at the 12th fret low E. This auction includes the original Gibson case and paperwork.
