Les Paul Guitars Auction Description: After buying and selling (mostly buying) over 30 high-end guitars during the past decade, I am unfortunately forced to sell THE CROWN JEWEL OF MY COLLECTION!!! This listing is for a 2003 Gibson Custom Shop "Les Paul 1968 Custom Koa with Abalone Inlays"serial #CS3xxxxThis is an extremely limited edition guitar. I spoke with Gibson today and they believe there were only 3 of these ever made...just 3!!! I am the third owner of this particular guitar and you would be the fourth. Now for the guitar specs... Koa top (gorgeous wood grain features) Mahogany back and sidesAbalone Inlays (insane colors!!, despite my crappy camera pics), split-diamond headstock inlay and block fingerboard inlaysPickups = '57 Classic Humbuckersgold Grover tunersgold hardware1-piece Mahogany neck with long tenon'59 rounded neck profileABR-1 bridgeEbony fingerboardvintage-style volume and tone knobsPink Blanket Combo Guitar Case weight = 9-10 pounds, typical for a solidbodyplays like a dream with incredible toneThis guitar is in Dead-Mint condition!!!I just went over it and it is perfect. There is NOT ONE pick scratch on the front, the is NOT ONE scratch on the back, nor on the black plastic covers. The pickups show NO oxidation. There IS oxidation on the bridge, the jack plate washers, and the tuner washers. The oxidation process is not preventable. The guitar has been in its case for at least the past 5 years. Temperature-controlled, smoke-free home. The previous owner said that he never played this guitar either. I only played it the first day that I got it and as a rule, I never play guitars while wearing belt buckles or shirt buttons.I am hoping to get $50,000 for this guitar. I am willing to end the auction early if I am offered an attractive Buy It Now price...please email me privately. Note that the slightly similar, 2002 Gibson 50th Anniversary is worth $12,000 and it has those ugly "cloud" inlays, an ugly maple? back, and there are 50 of them.Vintage Gibson Gold Tops go from $20,000-$100,000 and there are hundreds of them. Also, there is a 2011 Gibson CS Koa with lower-end features (inlays, tuners, pickups, knobs, neck, etc.) selling for $5,000.You really can't put a price tag on a high-end, absolutely gorgeous rarity. Shipping is included, but you pay for your own insurance if you desire. I will pack it very, very thoroughly and ship it UPS overnight - signature-required. Item will only be shipped within the continental USA.I would prefer to be paid by personal check rather than PayPal, and will not ship the guitar until the check clears. (That is why the handling time is 10 days.) Guitar is sold "as is". No refunds. Lastly, the guitar is also for sale outside of Ebay and I reserve the right to withdraw the auction at any time. I actually don't anticipate this auction making it to the end. Email me privately with questions. Thank you.
