I'M PRETTY SURE THE ORIGINAL COST WAS AROUND $3800. IT IS COMPLETELY MINT AND INTACT. HE'S A BASS PLAYER SO THIS GUITAR WAS PLAYED VERY SPARINGLY. THE ONLY THING MISSING IS THE CERTIFICATE BECAUSE WE MOVED AND I CANNOT FIND IT! IF I DO FIND IT I WILL SHIP IT TO THE BUYER. THE SERIAL NUMBER IS PF088 AND THE GUITAR ALSO FEATURES A FACSIMILE OF FRAMPTON'S SIGNATURE.IF THIS GUITAR SELLS FOR OVER $3100 THE SHIPPING IS FREE!Peter FramptonPeter Frampton 54 Custom with three humbuckersGuitar Center added a replica of the "Black Beauty" Les Paul Custom, with three pickups, that Peter Frampton used as his main guitar from his days in Humble Pie through his early solo career, photographed playing the instrument on the front jackets of his albums Frampton and Frampton Comes Alive. It has all the same qualities such as the three uncovered humbucking pickups and missing pickguard. The Black Beauty was not issued until 1957, however the one given to Frampton by a fan named Mark Mariana original was a '54 which had been routed out for a middle pickup.
