Les Paul Guitars Auction Description: Up for auction/possible tr@de is my 1958 Burst Clone - built in 2004 by Tony Nobles - the guitar was constructed using historically accurate techniques (hyde glue, nitro, etc.) and was built using 100 plus year old mahogany, maple, and brazilian rosewood. You will not find, (for this money, or for any money) a better les paul. It currently has Throbak PAFs but i'll sell the guitar with Duncan Antiquities for 250less than the final bid.It was built for the Vintage Guitar PAF shootout which was part of the celebration of the anniversary of Seth Lover's original humbucker. This guitar went on to win the 2007 VG Burst Clone shootout and is simply an amazing piece of wood.It weighs 8.5 fully loaded, is very loud acoustically and sustains for ever. It comes with a 70s GIbby case - - I actually have a BillyGibbons Pearly Gates case that i bought for it, that i'd sell with the guitar if you were interested.Tony references in the letter (and all docs are included referencing the info contained in this listing) that he built it using his personal stash of old wood including brazilian rosewood. Take a look at the closeup of the top and you'll see the depth and grain of the maple cap... NEw Maple just don't look this nice. Speaking of the top, Tony said its only 1/2" thick at its thickest point which makes for a deep and resonant sounding guitar. Acoustically, it is very loud. The 1/2" top makes for a guitar that sets up perfectly with the bridge nice and low keeping string tension at a minimum, the guitar plays like butter and intonates perfectly. It has reissue plastic and gotoh hardware, grover tuners, the front of the headstock has what you'd expect to see on a LP, obviously, I can't show those images in the auction.i've become a PRS exclusive player, and need to move this to make room for more guitar. The guitar is very very nice, but not mint. It isn't aged by any means, but it does have typical play wear and you should expect to see some nicks and scratches but no major gouges or anything stupid.I would consider a trade for a Brazilian Necked PRS (hum bucker equipped only)thanks for looking. On Oct-20-11 at 09:45:48 PDT, seller added the following information:
