THE RESERVE IS MANY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS LESS THAN WHAT I PAID. The year 2002 marked the 50th anniversary of the LesPaul model, and to commemorate that milestone, Gibson's Custom Shop created this ultra-deluxe version of the legendary electricsolidbody Les Paul Custom, made with exquisite materials, pictured here. I purchased mine new, and it's #12 IN A LIMITED RUN OF ONLY 50 MADE. THIS IS A RARE GUITAR. You can see the number in the series and date stamp in the back of the headstock. This 50th Anniversary Les Paul Custom has a one-piecefigured maple back and a two-piece curly KOA top. The three-piece neck has astrip of curly KOA running between two pieces of curly maple. The fingerboard is of the highest grade Madagascar ebony and inlaid withgorgeous abalone clouds and abalone side markers. The top, back and fingerboard are bordered with multi-ply binding. The finishis nitrocellulose lacquer in an antique natural shade that brings out the richtone of the KOA and MAPLE. Gibson '57 Reissue PAF Humbuckers with black plastic surrounds and outputs of 7.77k and 7.75k. Gibson ABR-1 retainer bridge with metal saddles, separate stud tailpiece. All the hardware is gold-plated, including the brassbackplates and truss rod cover. The limited-edition 50th Anniversary case comeswith an embroidered case cover, which I'm selling with the guitar, along with all the original paperwork and certificate of authenticity. It is truly the most exquisite guitar with the finest of materials. The guitar is 10 lbs. The action and playability is just incredible, with a sweet fat pure sound, and killer sustain. The action is truly amazing and intonation is perfect. I have never taken this guitar out to a gig, and have only occasionally played it in my basement. The guitar is in near-mint condition. The KOA top is flawless. Both the top and back are exquisitely figured. There are only 3 extremely small blemishes on the back, which you can see if you zoom in to the back, and look really hard to the lower right to notice them. This is a very special guitar for the serious Les Paul collector. I paid $8400.00 new in 2002, and Gibson's suggested price at the time was $10,000. Please - serious bidders only.
