Les Paul Guitars Auction Description: This is a gorgeous 1958 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Historic Reissue -- Flametop! As new, made on Oct. 18, 2010.The AAA flame is otherwise only found on the more expensive 1959 model. It weighs in at an incredibly light 8.0 lbs flat and IS NOT chambered.I am the first owner of the guitar, which I purchased new as a limited run from Dave's Guitar in Wisconsin. If you know Historic Les Pauls, you'll appreciate the fact that this is the upcharged gloss model, as opposed to the VOS gunk that Gibson is putting on most Historics these days. If you favor a little more shoulder to your neck, you'll also prefer the '58 over the more pricey 1959 model with a skinny neck. This guitar has some serious bark, with lovely chime, even in the neck position. It's the classic Les Paul tone, and the reason I'm asking a fair sum is because I would otherwise kick myself for letting this baby go.The only thing I added were speed knobs, over the regular bell knobs. I included pictures with both types. I'll leave the speed knobs on for now, and if you prefer the bells, I'll put them on for you if you like. I'll even put the bells free in the case upon sale if you can't decide from pictures alone. The guitar is otherwise completely original and comes with all original hang tags, certificate of authenticity, warranty card, receipt, and of course, original Gibson Custom Shop hardshell case. You can see at Dave's that these guitars brand new go for $500 more than I'm charging. And none of them are as lightweight as this particular Les Paul, which was hand-selected for me by the dealer. The only slight blemish I could find on the guitar is a fingernail-sized indentation by the control cavity on the back of the guitar. (See photo.) Shipping is 65.00 via USPS 3-Day Priority Shipping.
