Les Paul Guitars Auction Description: You are looking at a 2001 Gibson USA Les Paul Standard. 1999-2001 are becoming some of the hottest selling Gibson's because of the sheer quality of product Gibson was putting out at that time. The neck profiles were rounded with thickness somewhere between a 60's slim and a 50's fat. These necks are some of my favorites and I'm really picky about neck shapes. The taper down to the headstock is perfect!This guitar was purchased and owned by a local friend that plays at home. The stock pickups were a little harsh for his ears so he had the best local luthier in town swap the pickups for a set of hand wound Motor City PAF replicas. These pickups sound wonderful. Loads of bite with tons of clarity that wouldn't be found on a stock Gibson humbucker. The frets are in near new condition and the guitar just received a complete pro setup with fretboard condition and fret polish. The action is nice and low and it plays wonderful.The only regrets with the guitar are some light impressions that I attempted to show in the pics and the two dings on the outside edges of the back. Otherwise the guitar is in great shape. The finish is beautiful and very glossy. The factory pickguard was removed and placed in the case if you wish to reinstall.
