2005 GIBSON LES PAUL STANDARD 1959 REISSUE RI AAA FLAME TOP CHERRY BURST GUITAR Les Paul Guitars Auction Description: Untitled DocumentItem DetailsFor your consideration is this rare 2005 Gibson Les Paul Standard electric guitar. This stunning example, serial number 020250473, is in excellent all original condition, and features a gorgeous combination of a translucent cherry red finish over book-matched flame maple top accented by attractive gold hardware. This particular version was not offered in the mid-2000's Gibson catalog, and is assumed to have been produced in very limited quantities, so take advantage of this No Reserve auction with FREE WORLDWIDE shipping, and make this breath-taking Les Paul YOUR breath-taking Les Paul! This 2005 Gibson Les Paul Standard features; a 2-piece book-matched flame maple top, a beautiful cherry finish (designated as BC inside the pickup cavity, for Black Cherry), a 1-piece mahogany neck, a traditional non-chambered body construction, (2) vintage reissue 'PAF' Burstbucker Pro pickups, trapezoid Mother of Pearl inlays, reissue style Gibson Deluxe tuners and gold hardware, small binding in the cutaway, a reissue-style, non-designated model on the truss rod cover and a nice Gibson gigbag. What's most interesting about this Les Paul are its unusual and unprecedented combination of vintage reissue appointments. With the "LP57" written in the bridge pickup cavity, yet finished with an incredible Cherry Red finish over a highly figured flame maple top AND gold hardware! The "L" indicates "Les Paul." While the "P" designates a "Premium" top quality. The "57" references the "1957" larger neck profile and as mentioned earlier, the "BC" denotes the "Black Cherry" translucent red finish. As mentioned, this Les Paul Standard is excellent all original condition, with no modifications, no cracks, no breaks, no repairs nor replaced parts. It does exhibit some typical yet minimal playing wear, including some clear coat chipping near the knobs, as well as a couple very small dings on the headstock. Otherwise, this guitar looks fantastic. With regard to functionality, this Les Paul is fantastic. The neck is perfectly straight. Both pickups work flawlessly (neck 7.68Ω, bridge 8.3Ω), all pots work great, and all corresponding gold hardware is in nicely preserved condition displaying only expected wear patterns. The guitar sings with sustain and weighs 10 lbs. 11 oz. The original Gibson soft gig bag is also included which is in perfect condition. Clearly the serial number is in the orientation of a normal production Gibson guitar, and while it does feature a collection of unique vintage reissue style appointments, this is obviously not a Custom Shop Historic Les Paul, but if it were it would be worth almost $4,000.00, so take advantage of this rare opportunity to buy a comparable instrument for half price! This guitar is being re-listed due to miscommunication between myself and the previous high bidder.
