Les Paul Guitars Auction: 1981 Gibson Custom Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar

1981 Gibson Custom Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar Le Paul Guitar Auction Description: Up for auction: The pride of my collection. This is a 1981 Gibson Les Paul Custom. I believe it is a 1981, i looked up the serial number in a book one time and thats what it said. I am the original owner and this guitar is in amazing playable shape from a smoke free home. It has been recently (1 year) been professionally set up and the action is fantastic. This guitar is in amazing shape and has not had much playing time through the years, it has been in my closet forever and now needs a good home. The condition is amazing, there is a slight ding on the binding on the top but the body and neck are clean and the neck is very straight. There is some wear on the back bridge but thats about it. This guitar sounds great in concert and in the practice room.Comes with the following:Gold hardware with original tuning pegs with winders built inOriginal pickups and pickgard (removed)Abalone inlays (i believe it is ab, it might be a real nice mother of pearl but i think its ab)Comes with a gibson hardshell case and strap with straploks. All sales are final so please read auction carefully for auction terms and descriptions of condition. Please email me with specific questions about item conditions.SHIPPING:I will combine shipping on items. Thank you all for your questions and interest in my auction. I have done my best to answer them, take a look at the questions below to see if ive answered yours.I have included some non flash shots to show the ding in the binding and the wear on the bridge and i have located the original hardware (minus the tone and volume knobs) and the gold pegs! I am still looking for the original knobs with no luck as of yet. Check out that picture of the back! I was surprised at how clean it was.On Jan-25-11 at 20:28:43 PST, seller added the following information:UPDATE: I used gibsons website to check the serial and determine that this is a 1984 NOT a 1981 gibson les paul custom made in nashville.

Les Paul Guitars Auction: 1994 Gibson Les Paul 1958 Reissue Tom Murphy Painted

1994 Gibson Les Paul 1958 Reissue Tom Murphy Painted Le Paul Guitar Auction Description: 1994 was the first full year of Historic Les Paul production, and was the year the 1958 plaintop reissues were first offered. The story goes that the overseas market (Japan, in particular) wanted something a bit more "realistic" looking, as opposed to the mega-flamed 59 reissues that the Custom Shop was offering. A limited run of approximately 50 plaintop 1958 reissues was issued, selected for weight and the quality of their tops. To top it off, Tom Murphy personally sprayed the finish on each one, with the intent to emulate a particulary nice-looking real 58 Les Paul featured in Beauty of the Burst. Murphy *aged* guitars are a dime-a-dozen, but a Murphy painted guitar (factory direct from Gibson) is a rare bird. This R8 is serial number 8 4030, the 30th R8 ever made by the Custom Shop. It is in very excellent condition, with a couple of small dings in the top that don't go through the paint, and some very minor worming on the back. The hardware has naturally oxidized over the past 17 years, and the inlays have slightly yellowed, just as the originals did. There is also some minor checking (real checking!) on the treble horn, which I've tried to capture in the last photo. The guitar weighs 8.75 lbs and has what many consider to be the most accurate late 58/59 profile the Custom Shop ever produced...not huge, but nice and chunky with very little shoulder. I've photographed the guitar without the pickguard, in order to show the slight "shadow" that has begun to develop due to the finish continuing to fade over time. This guitar is 17 years old, and truly feels, looks and sounds "vintage". The newer offerings just don't compare to these early Custom Shop guitars. Please contact me with any questions, and good luck bidding!

Les Paul Guitars Auction: 2010 Gibson Les Paul Standard in Ebony

2010 Gibson Les Paul Standard in Ebony Le Paul Guitar Auction Description: New 2010 Gibson Les Paul Standard EbonyCheck out my other items - opens in a new window or tab!Be sure to add me to your favorites list - opens in a new window or tab! Les Paul Standard has Gibson's newest neck profile"an asymmetrical design that makes it one of the most comfortable and playable necks ever offered on any guitar. The new ergonomically-correct profile is tapered, and designed to be thicker on the bass side, and thinner on the treble side, closely outlining the natural form of the hand as it grips the neck. The Standard necks are machined in Gibson's rough mill using wood shapers to make the initial cuts. Once the rosewood fingerboard gets glued on, the rest"including the final sanding"is done by hand. That means there are no two necks with the exact same dimensions. So while it still has the basic characteristics of its respective profile, each neck will be slightly different, with a distinct but traditional feel.Les Paul Standard will benefit from Gibson's proven chambering technique, which leaves each guitar with perfect tone, balance, and weight. Prior to gluing the maple cap on top of the mahogany body, the expert craftsmen at Gibson USA carve out carefully mapped-out chambers in the body using a Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC) router. The positioning of the routes was established after careful examination of the resonant characteristics of the Les Paul. Gibson approached this process with the awareness that every change to the formula would have repercussions on the instrument's sound. So, in addition to relieving the stress on a player's back and shoulder, these lighter Gibson guitars also enhance the tone palette in a manner unique only to these guitars. The results are comfortable, lightweight guitars that are acoustically louder, with increased sustain and resonance.Les Paul Standard features TonePros locking Nashville Tune-o-matic in a chrome finish, which has saddle adjustment screws on the pickup side, and pre-notched saddles for quick installation. The chrome locking stopbar tailpiece is also from TonePros. These parts come with locking studs designed to secure both components firmly to the body so that there is no lean, yielding a great union between the strings and body which results in excellent tone and sustain.Les Paul Standard is one of the first models from Gibson USA to utilize the revolutionary Plek machine in setting up the guitar. The Plek is a German-made, computer controlled machine that carefully measures each fret, along with the fingerboard height under each string, and then automatically dresses each fret, virtually eliminating string buzz and greatly improving the overall playability of the guitar. This pioneering process does in minutes what it takes a luthier several hours"sometimes even days"to accomplish. Every fret is accurately aligned, and the guitar is properly intonated, leaving the instrument "Plek'd" and amazingly playable.Neutrik has been making superior electronic interconnection products since 1975, making them the logical choice to supply the performance safeguarding jack in Gibson's Les Paul Standard. Like many Neutrik products, the jack in the Les Paul Standard is manufactured from strong, high-grade thermoplastics and housed in a rugged diecast nickel shell. A retention spring inside the jack ensures optimum grip on any guitar cable, thus avoiding the chance of lost connection. Les Paul Standard is outfitted with locking tuners from Grover, which deliver ease of use through a standard tuner and positive locking mechanism that securely locks each string in place. Simply insert each string through the string hole, turn the dial on the bottom of the tuner to lock the string, and begin tuning. Each string can be tuned to pitch in less than one complete revolution of the post. These Grover machine heads feature completely sealed components with an improved 18:1 tuning ratioLes Paul Standard features all newly designed controls, including custom-made, solderless potentiometers. These new potentiometers deliver accuracy and high reliability, while giving the Standard a new level of sonic clarity and intensity never before seen in a Les Paul.Les Paul Standard sports a revolutionary enlarged neck tenon designed by Gibson's team of pioneering engineers. The expanded neck tenon features an innovative interlocking joint that allows the neck to be dropped into the body from the guitar's top side, as opposed to sliding the neck in from the rim. When the glue is added, a solid unyielding bond is created that maximizes the wood to wood contact between the neck and the body, offering increased stability and superb transfer of vibration for enhanced tone, improved sustain, and superior resonance. It is also the largest neck tenon in the history of the Les Paul. The Burstbucker Pro, designed specifically for the new Les Paul Standards. The Burstbucker Pro features an Alnico V magnet (instead of the Alnico II), which offers slightly higher output and allows preamps to be driven a little harder to achieve a more natural break-up. Like all Burstbuckers, the Burstbucker Pro has asymmetrical coils"true to the original PAFs"which supply a more open sound. The Burstbucker Pro Neck is wound slightly less than the original PAFs, while the Burstbucker Pro Bridge is slightly overwound for increased output. The Burstbucker Pro pickups are also wax potted to allow loud volume pressures with minimal feedback.

Plus, the neck features Kroeger's own idea of adding white star decals along the upper back fingerboard, aligned with the standard fret markers, which allow you to see where your hand is positioned when playing on a darkened stage. Its headstock is back-angled at the traditional 17 degrees, a design point that increases string pressure in the nut slots to enhance resonance and sustain. Pickups and ElectronicsThe Chad Kroeger Blackwater Les Paul carries a powerful complement of pickups, including Gibson's 490R and 498T from the popular Modern Classics series, and a GraphTech Ghost system in the form of a piezo-pickup bridge for authentic acoustic tones. Les Paul Guitars Auction: 1994 Gibson Les Paul Classic Electric Guitar

1994 Gibson Les Paul Classic Electric Guitar Le Paul Guitar Auction Description: Hello. Up for auction is a 1994 Gibson Les Paul Classic. This auction also includes a new Gibson hard shell case.We just took this guitar in on consignment. This guitar is in good condition but does have some wear. This one has been played and there are some nicks and scratches here and there. Most of these are fairly minor, but a few do go through the finish. This guitar had a headstock break repair done by Joe Campagna, a local Gibson warranty repair tech. The repair is flawless....you can still see the line from the break but you can not feel it at all. It's barely even noticeable and is a totally pro repair. Other than that, she's all there. Everything functions just as it should and there are no issues of any sort. Everything is original with no mods or repairs besides two changed strap buttons. The hard shell case is new and is in excellent condition. We just had our tech set it up with 10's and it plays like a dream with nice low action. The neck is a very comfortable 60's slim taper profile and is super easy to get around on. She's a chunky piece.....comes in at 10.2 lbs on the bathroom scale and has sustain for days. This guitar is very well balanced and ultra responsive...it sounds absolutely amazing! Our reserve is priced much lower than these typically sell for on ebay given it's cared for but played condition and the headstock repair. This tone machine plays like a dream, sounds fantastic, and has all the Gibson vibe anyone could ever want. Don't miss this opportunity to get your hands on such great Les Paul for so little. We are a brick and mortar music store that has been in business since 1974 and are an authorized Gibson dealer. Check our 100% positive feedback and bid with confidence. Buyer to pay actual shipping via UPS Insured with signature and proof of adult ID upon delivery to the US and Canada only. We accept Paypal only and require payment within 24 hours of auction close. No international bidders or ebayers with less than 10 positive feedback unless prior arrangements are made. Les Paul Guitars Auction: Gibson Les Paul Standard. Lollar Imperials. 500K pots

Gibson Les Paul Standard. Lollar Imperials. 500K pots Le Paul Guitar Auction Description: 2007 Gibson Les Paul StandardHoney Burst.First and foremost this Les Paul is an astonishing 7.5lbs. The neck is your standard 50's neck carve, beefy but not over the top. The frets have barely been touched and there is not a scratch, ding or dent on this guitar. If you hold the guitar in the light at angles you will see some clear coat wear from polishing. The kicker here is that the normal '57 classics have been replaced by Jason Lollar Imperials and the pots have been replaced with a 500K wiring harness from ACME. Bottom line, this thing kills. Les Paul Guitars Auction: 1999 Gibson Les Paul Custom Guitar Wine Red OHSC NR

1999 Gibson Les Paul Custom Guitar Wine Red OHSC NR Le Paul Guitar Auction Description: For auction is a 1999 Gibson Les Paul Custom guitar in a wine red finish/gold hardware also included the original Gibson hardcase. Here is a real looker with the wood grain showing and all original parts totally unmodded. The finish is mint looking and fret block inlays look amazing. This guitar had one previous owner who babied it as you can see. I have played over 35 customs this year and this one is way up there as far as best playing LP customs. Super comfy neck and this guitar rings out forever. Chords sound huge with really amazing clarity. This is really an all purpose guitar the way it can handle so many different styles. For the heavy rock players that bridge pick up can handle all the gain and just sounds crushing. You don't lose all the tone and mids/high will cut through the mix. The jazz and blues folks will be happy with how smooth this guitar sounds running clean with a touch of reverb. Its set up with very low action and frets have very no wear. I would giver it a solid 9.5 out of 10 for condition because I can make out some very light playing wear and it had a small 1/2 inch finish crack below the high E machine. The head stock is mint and sorry about the glare on the diamond inlay but trust me it looks perfect. Pristine ebony fret board, frets have almost no wear, block inlays, and neck is straight. Grovers are great, no issues. Electronics work perfectly and I do not hear any scratchiness on the pots.To check out my entire inventory google recyclerock guitars. I will ship worldwide but please make sure the country you reside in will accept a box that is 46",19",7". Also for international buyers outside N. America, I will only ship this via USPS Global Express mail. Les Paul Guitars Auction: 1982 Gibson Les Paul Heritage 80 Elite Quilt Top 1959

1982 Gibson Les Paul Heritage 80 Elite Quilt Top 1959 Le Paul Guitar Auction Description: 1982 Gibson Les Paul Heritage 80 Elite with Original Hardshell CaseThese Limited Edition Heritage 80 Guitars are about as close to comes to the real 1959 Burst Standard. This is the Elite model so it a 1 piece mahogany neck and not the 3 piece neck the Heritage Standard 80's have. And also with the elites a quilt top. I know spec wise the later reissues were a little closer. But, in my opinion these are closer in looks their fade, and sound to it's big brother. The ebony fingerboard and frets are in good condition. The neck is straight with no issues. This guitar has that perfect 59 profile neck, tarnishing to the nickel hardware it's dings, scratches, and wear here and there. Original Tim Shaw Pickups. They have that raw PAF sound famous with the 59's. A raw resonant twang I like to call it. The bridge pickup I am not able to take out all the way with the ring on and a little worried about taking the ring off and not being able to get the pickups screws back in to the surround. I can though lift it up high enough to see the Patent Pending Number stamp though. The guitar weighs 11 lbs. Serial number in the photos real visible. On the back of the headstock there is a very small line that can be seen in the photos. This is microns in depth. And can be only seen at certain angles. No break in anyway. Just need to mention and describe it. There are no breaks or repairs to the guitar. If I have forgotten anything just ask. Please e-mail for any questions or additional photosFully insured shipping to lower 48 states is $ 50.00.All others please e-mail for a quoteWE SHIP WORLDWIDE

Les Paul Guitars Auction: 2001 GIBSON CUSTOM ZAKK WYLDE LES PAUL BULLSEYE GUITAR

2001 GIBSON CUSTOM ZAKK WYLDE LES PAUL BULLSEYE GUITAR Le Paul Guitar Auction Description: You are Bidding on a 2001 Gibson Custom Zakk Wylde Les Paul ElectricGuitar. This Gibson Custom Zakk Wylde is authentic and in excellent condition with no issues of any kind! I confirmed with Gibson that it is a 2001. Gibson Custom worked with Wylde to create a guitar that features his trademark bullseye graphics, EMG humbucking pickups and raw, unfinished necks. The neck is a three-piece maple neck with no finish, giving the exact, slick feel of Wyldes original. The pickups are exactly the same as the ones in Wyldes original guitar: an EMG85 in the neck position, and an EMG81 in the bridge position. The EMG85 has more measurable output, but its frequency response and string interface are different, yielding a warmer and more natural tone and delivering balanced and uniform string response. The wide aperture of the coils produces a beefier low end and fatter top end, with loads of output that doesnt get muddy. The EMG81 is its perfect compliment, working best for high volume overdrive and amps with a master volume and producing a razor sharp attack with incredible sustain for brilliant soloing. Included is the original Gibson Custom hardshell case, case key, adjustment wrench & Gibson Custom and Zakk Wylde guitar picks. This Zakk Wylde Les Paul from Gibson Custom is the ultimate weapon for guitarists looking to hack out anything from metal to grunge to the most raw shred styles. Serial #: ZW 2XX This guitar willcome complete a Gibson Custom hardshell case. Shipping is $55 within theContinental USonly! INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS and Bidders with 0 feedback must contact mebefore bidding, otherwise I will cancel your bid.Like any guitar shippedacross the country, it will need a professional setup upon receiving it. On Jan-06-11 at 07:53:01 PST, seller added the following information: I have had a couple questions regarding the certificate of authenticity for this Zakk Wylde, per Gibson in 2001 they did not come with certificates. Les Paul Guitars Auction: Gibson Les Paul Traditional Plus 2009

A few very minor buckle scratches on back but wont show in the photograph. 2009 model with the plus top. 9 1/2 pounds, unchambered. Neck is fat, (chunkier than my other les paul with a 50's neck). Les Paul Guitars Auction: Gibson Les Paul Standard 60s Neck, USA 1997

Gibson Les Paul Standard 60s Neck, USA 1997 Le Paul Guitar Auction Description: This is a really gorgeous Gibson Les Paul Standard, with a slim 60s neck. It is from 1997, as indicated by the number on the back of the headstock, and was built in the USA. I have played many Gibson Les Pauls, and this is the nicest one I have ever played. It is because of the very dense rosewood fingerboard, which is black and buttery like ebony. The body is black, and the guitar has never had any problems at all. There is some chipping to the paint, and a couple of scratches, but they are only aesthetic issues: nothing affecting sound or playability. See pictures for any blemishes. It comes with its original Gibson Hardshell Case. The case is missing its handle (I have simply tied a cloth to the clips, which has worked very well), and is in general worn about the edges, but still is very sturdy, and the wear is just aesthetic. Pink plush lining for the case. It's a beautiful guitar, and you won't regret it. No returns please. Thanks

Les Paul Guitars Auction: Gibson Les Paul Gt Electric Guitar Red

Gibson Les Paul Gt Electric Guitar Red Le Paul Guitar Auction Description: Up for bid here is a very nice Gibson Les Paul GT. There are only 400 in this combination from Gibson. Guitar is red with NO flames, white binding and all chrome hardware. Part of the color of the week series from Gibson. The serial number is 010370397 in case you would like to check it out with Gibson. The guitar is in great condition with very little play time. I am the second owner and though I love this guitar, I cannot afford to keep her. The finish is very nice. The only flaws are small finish cracks around the bindings which are normal for a nitro finish from Gibson. I tried to photograph a small finish crack near the nut but it doesn't come out well in the photo. There is NOTHING wrong with the guitar, it is only a finish crack normal with nitro. The person I bought it from failed to mention this, but I want to be totally honest. It was checked out by a well respected luthier, Jim Decava. You can look him up to see just how good his guitars are. He deemed there to be nothing wrong after a thorough inspection. The crack has been filled in with a resin mixture and buffed out. IT is hardly noticeable and this was done only to protect the finish. The guitar holds a tune and plays wonderfully. The case is a nice black hard case with lock and only has minor scuffing from being stored and moved. All the original documents and the strap locks that came with it are included. I will ship it detuned to reduce pressure on the neck while in transit. Please ask any questions about this wonderful guitar.

Les Paul Guitars Auction: Gibson Les Paul Standard Premium Plus

Gibson Les Paul Standard Premium Plus Le Paul Guitar Auction Description: 2003 Desert Burst with custom wound pickups. Solid body, not the newer chambered body. Weight: about 10lbs. AAA Flamed Top. You already know this guitar. If you don't own one you know someone who does. Guitar has little playing time. No fret wear. I have gone to great lengths to list every detail of this instrument. It is in excellent condition but it is not a new guitar. The TOPThe original owner drilled two small holes in order to attach a synth pup (rationale eludes me). It was professionally repaired and you can see it in the closeups of the top. The other flaws cannot be picked up in photos so I will describe themThere are roughly 5 pin head size dings on the top. You have to hold the guitar up to the light and move it to see them. There are some light surface scratches on the top, nothing through to the wood. There is a split in the rubberized pickup switch grip near the bottom. This is not the pickup switch guard. The BODY - SidesA touch up of a ding to the bottom of the body at the cutaway. You can see it if you know where to look due to a slight mismatch of stain color. I count about 4 small dents and one light surface scratch. None through to the stain. No dings or dents in the binding that I can see or feel. The BODY - BackOne scratch, 1 inch long coming off the electronics plate. Not through to the stain. Light surface scratches on the plastic electronics plate.1 dent: 1/4 inch long, 1/32 inch wide about 2 inches off the electronics plate near the bottom of the body. Not through to the finish. Approximately 4 pinhead size dings. No buckle rashA few light surface scratches, none through to the finishOne scratch near the switch cover, roughly 1/3 inch. Not through to the finish. The NECK - not including headstockI can feel, but not see, a few pinhead size dings, buy running my fingers up and down the neck. The HEADSTOCKA rough spot on the inside of the headstock where it meets the neck. Probably caused by a wall hanger.A finish smudge or a low spot just below the Made in USA logo on back. I expect it came from the factory that way as I didn't notice it for years. It may be due to imperfect sanding of the rear of the headstock when the guitar was built. If I hadn't disclosed it you would not likely have seen it.Mods: The pickups have been rewound. I took out the original pickups and sent them to Wolfe MacLeod in Seattle. He winds custom pickups as you can see at: http://www.wolfetone.com/wolfelore.htmlThe objective was to make an LP sound as good as it possibly could given you couldn't get a real '59. I sent various sound clips of Mike Bloomfield's 59 LP running through a Twin Reverb with JBL DF120s with no pedals. You can hear one of the clips at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIArmP6HcZk&feature=list_related&playnext=1&list=MLGxdCwVVULXchzFEEPpMEwF0W87Y4nO3lI sent Wolfe the pickups in December 2003 and after about 8 weeks of experimentation got them back. What we ended up with is an LP with a very bright bridge pup and a sweet, smooth neck pup. Also, if you play through an amp with no effects the pups resolve every nuance of your sound. Very capable guitarists that have played this instrument love it. Beginners tend not to like it as much. If you use a lot of effects it probably won't matter to you at all. Here is the bottom line. I have a partial paralysis of my right thumb and index finger. That takes care of my playing career. If you want an LP for which great care has been taken in making it sound as good as an LP can sound, you'll like this guitar. If you want a new guitar, you'll just have to buy one. This is not a contingent sale. I have put the time in describing the guitar so there will no surprises, for you or me. If you are unhappy Ebay has a dispute process. I will refund your money if Ebay concludes you were mislead or the guitar is defective. I'll send more pictures of anything you like, just ask.
