Les Paul Guitars Auction: 2009 Gibson Custom Shop Slash Signature Les Paul

2009 Gibson Custom Shop Slash Signature Les Paul Le Paul Guitar Auction Description: 2009Gibson Custom Shop Limited Edition Slash Signature Les Paul "The weight of the guitar, the way the neck is, the humbuckers; all that stuff just appeals to me as a guitar player. This Les Paul really is the best all-around guitar for me." - Slash There is no mistaking Slash. Even the people who don't know his music recognize the face of the man who has embodied everything rock and roll since the mid-1980s. From the minute Slash and Guns N' Roses blasted out of the L.A. club scene to his work today with Velvet Revolver and beyond, Slash has created some of the most powerful and popular hard rock of all time, and he's done it all with his trusted Gibson Les Paul Standards. Working closely with Slash, Gibson Custom has created the Slash Les Paul Signature model, specifically equipped with all of the individual features and unique characteristics that inspire Slash every time he picks up a Les Paul. The magic and power of the Slash Les Paul Signature model from Gibson Custom is in the details. With the goal of making both a classic and versatile Les Paul, Slash and Gibson Custom have created one of the most resourceful and beautiful Les Pauls ever. "It's exactly the way I like my guitars set up, with the thin neck, the Seymour Duncan Alnico II pickups, the old classic hardware, everything," says Slash. The Slash Les Paul Signature Les Paul model focuses on function as much as beauty, but starts with one of the Les Paul's most traditional features: a hand-carved figured maple cap fitted onto a solid mahogany back. The standard one-piece mahogany neck is topped with a 22-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with a long neck tenon similar to the Les Pauls of the late 1950s, which extends well into the body pickup cavity, resulting in more wood-to-wood contact and overall strengthening of the guitar. The neck profile is also modeled from the necks on Slash's original Les Pauls. The Slash Les Paul Signature model features two Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro II humbucker pickups, which are the same exact pickups that power each one of Slash's personal Les Pauls. They are open-coil humbuckers made to Slash's specs, and powerfully deliver the deep crunch and singing leads he's famous for. Fishman's Powerbridge pickup system unleashes the natural acoustic potential of this Les Paul, offering players an incredible selection of acoustic and hybrid acoustic/electric sounds with a special three-position mini-toggle switch inserted between the guitar's two volume control knobs to help regulate it. Rather than changing the natural tone of the Les Paul, the Powerbridge acts as an additional pickup that can be used on its own or blended with the Alnico II Pros to create an entirely new category of sound. There's nothing like the look and feel of a vintage guitar, and Gibson Custom's original Custom Authentic finish produces this highly desired quality with brilliant precision, giving the Slash Les Paul Signature model the distinct look of a gently aged vintage guitar. Furthering the guitar's vintage look is its aged hardware, and a special Dark Tobacco Burst finish just like the finish on Slash's favorite Les Paul. Other features include a custom "Slash" truss rod cover, figured acrylic trapezoid fingerboard inlays, creme-colored binding around the body and fingerboard and authentic vintage-style tulip tuners. This guitar is in MINT condition and comes complete with the Les Paul Reissue case and certificate of authenticity. If you are a Les Paul collector, player, enthusiast or Slash fan and don't have this guitar, then your really aren't a Les Paul collector, player, enthusiast or Slash fan!Feel the Power! The Power of the Paul! Les Paul Guitars Auction: Gibson Les Paul Traditional 2009 - MINT - GOLD TOP

Gibson Les Paul Traditional 2009 - MINT - GOLD TOP Le Paul Guitar Auction Description: Gibson Les Paul Traditional 2009 - MINT - GOLD TOP NO RESERVE - IT'S GOTTA GO! Original owner - only had it a few months. Incredible guitar, but I hardly play it (more of a strat kinda guy), and a studio project is sucking cash, so several infrequent players got to go. Thanks! CONDITION:Not much to say other than MINT. Comes with original case as pictured. I don't have a good scale, but my crappy half pound digital says it's between 9 and 9.5 pounds. Note: If you're a nit-picky person, please don't buy from me - guitars that have been played/handled, especially thin skin lacquer finishes show some "flaws:" swirls, rubs, fine hairline lines, etc. However, this Gibson LP Traditional is perfect, but I'm sure a magnifying glass and the right light would find "something." I AM NOT A BUSINESS >>> GUITAR SOLD "AS IS" - NO RETURNS!CONFIRMED PAY PAL ADDRESS ONLY. SHIPPING:- Flat rate of $55 for UPS Ground, including insurance- Within 3 business days of payment.- Continental U.S. only! (Please do not ask if I will ship internationally.)- Professionally packed. From Gibson:Taking design and visual cues from the Les Pauls of the 80s and 90s, the Les Paul Traditional starts with an un-chambered mahogany body with traditional weight-relief holes for a beefy tone that maintains the resonance of modern Les Paul. Each Les Paul Traditional also comes with Gibson USA's standard black snakeskin case. Weight-relieved Mahogany BodySatisfying the call in the early 1980s to make a lighter Les Paul, Gibson engineers came up with the idea of placing strategically routed holes in the Les Paul body to lessen the weight of the guitar. After trying several patterns, the final configuration of holes resulted in a Les Paul with enhanced acoustic qualities and improved resonance. This same period-correct pattern is used in the Les Paul Traditional. The body itself is made from premium mahogany, and it goes through the same rigorous processes as all the wood used by Gibson USA. Pickups: Neck - 57 Classic; Bridge - 57 Classic PlusAmong the qualities that make Gibson's original "Patent Applied For" humbucking pickups so unique are the subtle variations between coil windings. For the first few years of their productions"1955 to 1961"Gibson's PAF humbuckers were wound using imprecise machines, resulting in pickups with slightly different output and tone. The 57 Classic and 57 Classic Plus pickups are the result of Gibson drive to capture and recreate this characteristic. Introduced in 1992, the 57 Classic provides warm, full tone with a balanced response, packing that classic Gibson PAF humbucker crunch. The 57 Classic Plus is the perfect bridge-position companion to the 57 Classic, inspired by those original PAFs that received a few extra turns of wire. Both are made by Gibson to the exact same specs as the original PAFs, including Alnico II magnets, nickel-plated pole pieces, nickel slugs, maple spacers, and vintage-style, two-conductor braided wiring. Gibson added poly-coated wiring, which improves consistency by eliminating thick or thin spots on the wiring, and wax potting, which removes all internal air space and any chance of microphonic feedback. Revolutionary Plek Set UpThe Les Paul Traditional is the first model from Gibson USA to utilize the revolutionary Plek machine in setting up the guitar. The Plek is a German-made, computer-controlled machine that carefully measures each fret, along with the fingerboard height under each string, and then automatically dresses each fret, virtually eliminating string buzz and greatly improving the overall playability of the guitar. This pioneering process does in minutes what it takes a luthier several hours"sometimes even days"to accomplish. Every fret is accurately aligned, and the guitar is properly intonated, leaving the instrument "Plek'd" and amazingly playable.

Les Paul Guitars Auction: Gibson Les Paul Standard - Gold Hardware - NO RESERVE

Gibson Les Paul Standard - Gold Hardware - NO RESERVE Le Paul Guitar Auction Description: 2003 Gibson Les Paul Standard - Gold Hardware - No Reserve That's right, you read correctly. This is a NO RESERVE auction for a 2003 Gibson Les Paul Standard Cherry Sunburst guitar with a bookmatched "tiger" striped maple top and Gold Hardware. Gold Schaller strap-locks are installed. The maple top slab is not a veneer; it is two bookmatched pieces of maple that are about 1" thick at the highest arch of the maple top. The maple tiger stripes are highly figured when looked at one angle, then not as visible from another angle. I therefore give this top an "AA" rating. The guitar is in perfect working condition with no issues. The bridge has been professionally intonated and the guitar stays in tune remarkably well. There are no splits, cracks, breaks or repairs anywhere, just light playwear and a few small nicks. The action is low, the neck is true and the frets are in great shape. The gold hardware shows a little sign of wear on the bridge and stop tailpiece. Back is perfectly clean, no belt buckle rash. Three dings on the front; these can't be seen in pictures, but they can be seen up close (again, this is a NO RESERVE auction). This guitar is completely solid (i.e. not chambered) with a beefy, gutsy sound and a lot of balls. The neck pickup is a 1983 Seymour Duncan '59 that has a warm, sweet, smooth sound. The adjustable screws are gold which is unusual for an all cream bobbin pickup. The bridge pickup is a 1983 Seymour Duncan Invader that has a much more powerful, richer, meaner sound. With the right settings on a tube amp, the Eddie Van Halen sound is easy to get out of the Duncan Invader. The Duncan Invader is not as bright as the '59, but the brightness can be added by adjustments on the amp and at loud settings it is easy to get controlled feedback from the amp. When toggling between the two pickups it is easy to notice the significantly higher output from the Invader. I purchased the Seymour Duncan pickups in 1983 and installed them on a 1983 Gibson Les Paul Standard Ebony. They remained on '83 LP, and played a lot of gigs, until I transferred them to this guitar. Because of the early, vintage nature of these pickups, neither pickup has "Seymour Duncan" printed on them (which I think looks stupid). Neither pickup shows any signs of wear or corrosion. Even though this guitar is an attractive beauty, it is a working guitar, and has been played a lot. However, with all the playing the instrument still is in excellent, near-mint condition. The guitar comes pictured with the original "Gibson USA" hardshell case. This case is pictured with the 1983 LP Ebony shown (after I transferred the Burstbucker ALNICO V pickups from the 2003 LP). Payment is thru PAYPAL only. I will ship the instrument promptly within 24 hours of payment being received and will e-mail shipping info. Check my feedback - I really take care of my customers. I ship UPS Ground to the continental US only. I will not ship this guitar internationally, so please do not ask.

Les Paul Guitars Auction: Gibson Les Paul Standard Traditional Brand New 2009

Gibson Les Paul Standard Traditional Brand New 2009 Le Paul Guitar Auction Description: 2009 Gibson Les Paul Standard Traditional in gorgeous Cherry Sunburst! The traditional is the only way to get good old fashioned non-chambered Les Paul's these days without buying a custom shop reissue for $5000. The traditional offers the features of a standard like a mahogany body, set neck with 50's profile and a maple top. What sets the traditional apart is the solid body, the addition of the 57 and 57 plus humbuckers and the computer precision Plek'd neck. The Gibson Plek system files the frets and cuts slots in the nut to an accuracy of a hundredth of a millimeter for optimal action and intonation without string buzzing. What would take a luthier hours or daysBuilt in Nashville with a verifiable US serial number (checklist in the case matches the headstock serial number) and "MADE IN USA" stamped on the back of the headstock and "2009". I think the highlight of this one is certainly the flame top but also check out the beautiful natural patterns in the wood on the side and the back in the photos as well, that have been left for the world to see under the cherry stain. This is really one fantastic piece of wood! The guitar is new (old stock) with zero issues and no fret wear, because it's New! Every guitar is going to have a light polish marks that can be seen when tilted the right direction into certain lights and that applies here... but no scratches, dings, rubs or dents. Notta, nothing... just handled to inspect, plugged into an amp for a few minutes to make sure everything works, wiped down and put back in the included hardcase that houses the paperwork, inspection sheet from the factory and the manual.I require payment within48 hours of the listing end via Paypal instant transfer.Due to the flooding in Nashville, Gibson is running behind on production guitars and about to back-order a large number of guitars. Last report I heard was they lost hundreds of guitars that were on the floor ready to go or in the final stages of completion. Even Musician's Friend and Guitar Center's website shows most standards are back-ordered until 8/31, including the traditional you are viewing.

Les Paul Guitars Auction: Gibson Les Paul Standard Traditional Plus AAA

Gibson Les Paul Standard Traditional Plus AAA Le Paul Guitar Auction Description: Up for auction is a 2004 Gibson Les Paul Standard in excellent condition with a very nice flametop. I have put a lot of research and work into this guitar to make it a players dream. It has been built to as closely replicate a 57-59' paul as closely as possible using higher quality components than the current re-issues come with. The bridge pickup is a Gibson 57' Classic Plus. The neck pickup is a Gibson 57' Classic. The volume pots are 500K RS Guitarworks Superpots made by CTS. The tone pots are 500k CTS pots. The capacitors are 1956-1960 BumbleBee reproduction paper in oil caps made by Luxe. They are the only true Bumblebee reproduction cap made. The 3-way toggle is made made Switchcraft. It was wired by a professional using high grade solder following vintage style wiring schematics. All of this was done to create an instrument with true vintage tones but can also deliver great modern tones as well. It's very much so a players guitar. The upgraded electronics allow the guitar to clean up VERY nicely by just rolling back on the volume controls. The tone controls work very well ( unlike current production Les Pauls ) and give a great amount of tonal control without ever getting muddy. The only guitars I have played that respond this well are my PRS artist models. You will love the control this baby offers. As for the condition of the guitar itself..... I would say it is in excellent-VERY good condition. There are your typical very light swirl marks from picking on the top. These are to minor to be able to see in pictures or even in person unless you're holding the guitar under a light for inspection. In normal viewing conditions the top looks mint. The are also marks on the back. Once again, they won't show in the pictures even though I'm using a Nikon D90 SLR. They were caused by a very small belt buckle THROUGH a shirt. The finish was not penetrated. There are NO gouges. The marks are more like very light impressions. Once again, under normal viewing conditions the back of the guitar looks quite nice and the beautiful wood grain shows through very nicely. I only mention these things for the sake of full disclosure. The pictures give a very good representation of the guitars condition. The original pots, caps, and switch are included as well as the packaging for their replacement counterparts. So is the original hard shell case. I do not have the original pickups or the packaging for the new ones.I would absolutely NOT be selling this guitar if I didn't have to pay for my new Two Rock amp. While this guitar is not 100% original, it was built to represent what an original Les Paul should be. If you want Custom Shop tone and playability without the absurd price tag this is the instrument for you. The winner is going to love this piece !Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.Ships to lower 48 states only, flat rate of $75.00, professionally packed and fully insured for purchase price. Payment is only accepted through paypal and is expected within 3 days of the auction ending. Thanks, and happy bidding !

Les Paul Guitars Auction: 2003 Gibson Les Paul Standard with Bigsby Tremelo NICE!

2003 Gibson Les Paul Standard with Bigsby Tremelo NICE! Le Paul Guitar Auction Description: Up for auction is this very nice 2003 Gibson Les Paul Standard that I bought new in early 2005. It was a holdover from a small Mom and Pop music store.I am the original and only owner. The guitar has not been played much because shortly after I bought a '57 Reissue that became my main guitar. I didnt play it for several years and then decided to add a Bigsby to it so that it would get played more. I did play it for awhile but just dont need the Bigsby very often so its sat in the case for most of its life. I need transportation worse than I need several guitars so Im selling this along with some other guitar equipment and a vintage Gibson amp to help fund it.I had added a couple of features when I bought it that improved, in my opinion, the performance and usefulness of the guitar. I added new Seymour Duncan Antiquities pickups and CTS 500K pots. The taper is much better on these pots than the original ones. The pickups are great and have a very nice agressive growl. Look up some reviews of them and you'll see that everybody likes them. They are nickle plated so do have some of the corrosion so common with nickle. It doesnt take long with nickle. Sorry I dont have the original pickups or pots as I gave them to a friend who was hand building a Les Paul from scratch. I added Dunlop Straplocks when I got it but dont have the original strap buttons either. The original pickguard is also included however it is broke at the top sharp corner. I preferred the look of the Bigsby with the guard off so never bothered replacing it.There is virtually no fret wear on the original frets. The neck is arrow straight and the action is very nice....smooth and low. It is actually better than my '57 but I like the neck better on my ReIssue. There are no buzzes or rattles even with the Bigsby which was added by me. I bought it new and still have the box it came in although I did not include a picture of it. I can send it if the buyer wants. I also have the original Tailpiece and studs if the buyer would like to switch back to original. The only issue would be two screw holes that would be visible if done so. They would not affect playability or sound. The Bigsby does tremelos very nicely and stays in tune excellent. All pots and the switch work flawlessly with no scratchiness or anything undesireable. The ONLY issues with the body are minor. There is a small amount of worming in the middle of the back from playing with a button shirt. It should be visible in one of the pictures. It does not go through the finish at all and is pretty mild but does cover an area about 4 1/2" in diameter. There is also a single dent that is on the top side of the rear bout. About 3/8" long, it is fairly deep as dents go but does not penetrate the finish and is not cracked or loosening the finish in any way. Those are the only marks on the body. There is no cracking, finish checking, binding chips or cracks anywhere that I can see. The headstock is dent free around the edges, and there are no neck finish cracks or chips whether at the heel at the body, on the binding or at the headstock. I take VERY GOOD care of my instruments and it shows. My reserve is $1200 which I think is more than reasonable. The case is in excellent condition and is the desireable brown version with pink lining and shroud. All in very good shape. All latches and hinges are excellent and so is the handle. The lock has never been used. All paperwork is included from when I buy it. I have the original receipt if that is desired too. I have tried to provide as many detailed shots that I can, but realize my camera isnt the greatest. If somebody wants a better shot of an area just ask.If you have any questions, just ask. I will answer as quickly and honestly as I can. If I have missed anything, let me know and I will get the info up as quick as possible. I have 100% feedback and work hard to keep it. I have never had a package or item returned because I describe every flaw and detail that I can to instill confidence in the buyer that he knows exactly what he is getting. I would expect the same when Im buying something. Thanks for looking.,br>

Les Paul Guitars Auction: Gibson Dickey Betts Red Les Paul Guitar -- Rare

Gibson Dickey Betts Red Les Paul Guitar -- Rare Le Paul Guitar Auction Description: You are looking at a rare Gem of a guitar! A Dickey Betts Red Les Paul in Excellent + shape with all the candy and some pics of the Master himself playing Goldie redressed in Red. Yes, in 2002 and 2003 the custom shop made a limited run of Goldie. By that time Dickey had Stripped Goldie down and redone her in red-in fact years before. Remember Charlie Daniels singing about Richard Betts playing his red guitar in the South's Goin To Do It Again. The Custom Shop then decided to make a limited run of the red one as well, making 110 in all. 110-- that's all. Here is your chance to own this rare guitar. The guitar is basically a 57 Goldtop painted red. Unique features are the body cutaway on the back making it more comfortable and the western hardware at the toggle and input jack. The guitar features 57 pickups, burstbuckers. It weighs in right at 9 lbs and comes with the original case, case candy, strap, and the added bonus of pictures. The guitar plays well, it's neck is straight and true and it's set up ready to play. I need to give this guitar a good home. It has been played only at home. I am the second owner. I hate to part, but circumstances dictate that I must. See my other auctions.

Les Paul Guitars Auction: 1957 GIBSON CUSTOM SHOP LES PAUL GOLDTOP HEAVY AGED

1957 GIBSON CUSTOM SHOP LES PAUL GOLDTOP HEAVY AGED Le Paul Guitar Auction Description: This is a 2001 Reissue. Super Light body, under 9 Lbs with Bigsby! Tom Holmes Pickups (currently), Push Pull Jimmy Page Wiring, ( or the 2005 Custom Shop Page Pickups if you prefer), Gibson Brown Custom shop case, COA.... plus plus etc etc. I searched for a long time both near and far and finally found a very light weight Goldtop. It started as a stock 57R, 8 pound 0 ounce Murphy goldtop off ebay.... And then,, I had it taken to the extreme with Grover Tuners, Fresh frets, Page electronics, Rock star mojo, and some very heavy aging. It's been my 2nd favorite guitar since. All of the work was done so I would have a back up guitar for my vintage 1957 Goldtop (see last pic, I may be listing that guitar also if the market looks promising. Check other listings.) The certificate of Authenticity from the custom shop is also included.I picked this masterpiece up from a collector in a trade and he had Never played it. I had to try it once just to authenticate my version of Stairway to heaven .It was indeed pure heaven. You will not find a better example even if you buy new. Both necks are factory plecked and play like a dream. It is beautifully crafted by the custom shop with the finest woods and craftmanship .A must have for any Zeppelin fan .This is just a magnificent guitar .I would love to keep it for myself .But I have a wife (and you all know what that means). You will not be disappointed with this beauty and the only way to get a comparable one is to buy new.I have 100% feedback rating and this guitar is what I say it is. This is a no reserve auction starting at just .99 cents . Pick up a brand new guitar for a fraction of the price of a new one.If you have less than 10 feedbacks do not bid unless you contact me first or your bid will be cancelled. payment is expected immediately at close of auction unless you contact me ahead of time for other arrangements.I will ship anywhere in the world and will also ship as a gift so any overseas customers can save on customs and duty fees .please don't ask me shipping costs. I will only charge whatever the actual charge is and do not pad the shipping cost. The shipping in the lower 48 will be $90 due to the fairly heavy weight of this guitar edit: the dark spot on the back is not a scratch or dent .its just a dark spot under the finish. also anything you see in the pics that looks like scratches or marks are just reflections or fingerprints etc. There is not a single mark or scratch period !!!!!!!On Jul-04-10 at 21:24:10 PDT, seller added the following information:somebody has spotted a hair or piece of lint that has left a reflection that looks like a scrstch . I repeat .This guitar is flawless. There are absolutely no marks ,dents ,scratches or buckle rash of any kind. It is in perfect, like new, mint condition .On Jul-06-10 at 10:20:51 PDT, seller added the following information:EDIT: This guitar is completely original with original pickups. It has never been touched or molested in any way.Do not confuse it with the older regular models. This is the custom shop version and crafted to a much higher standard than the regular EDS 1275 models. It also has superior playability compared to a regular EDS 1275 due to the computer plecked frets(fret levelling).I've played both and there is no comparison!!!!!! The wood is hand picked and the craftmanship of the custon shop model is far superior.

Again. True to the spirit of innovation that inspired Gibson to invent the legendary Tune-o-matic bridge, the powerful humbucker, and the revolutionary Digital Les Paul, Gibson proudly presents the Gibson Robot Guitar"the world's first guitar with robotic technology. Since the dawn of the instrument, musicians have come to accept the guitar's imperfections and lack of tonal precision as necessary evils. Onstage and off, guitarists have fought to stay in tune. Every music lover and performer has had to suffer through the show"halting, mood-killing atonal droning of a loudly amped guitar being brought into tune. And in the studio, or at home, imprecise intonation throws the guitar in and out of tune, up and down the neck, as the instrument requires tweaking with each season and at times with each string change. For as long as the guitar has existed, guitar lovers have had two choices"live with a temperamental and out-of-tune instrument or make frequent trips to the shop for setups. Not anymore. Introducing the Gibson Robot Guitar. All you have to do is play it.

You are bidding on a beautiful 2007 1959 reissue Les Paul. This Les Paul was purchased by me from Vic DaPra brand new. This killer guitar has maybe the most realistically vintage color and flame that I have ever seen on an Historic Les Paul. The cherry color is deep and much darker than many of the "Washed Cherry" guitars that come out of the custom shop; You know the ones....with the bright red and yellow base color.....that remind you of your favorite circus clown?Let  me just say....I picked this guitar because its figure was so vintage looking...mismatched sides with a very cool blank spot on the bass side adjacent to the waist of the guitar;  straight out of the BOTB (Beauty of the Burst ) book!!Neck is ramrod straight!Serial number is 9 7216. Plekked before shipping this guitar plays and feels like an old friend with a very comfortable "C" shaped neck....perfect size for an Historic! The action is low and the shallow neck angle allows the ABR1 to sit close to the deck which lends to this guitars woody tone and with 10's it is so easy to bend!!The fretboard is a deep dark brown, and is nice and smooth! The electronics have been upgraded with CTS 500K pots, vintage Sprague caps, 50's wiring and the best part are the two Throbak SLE 101 ltd Pickups.Pickups read 7.6K bridge and 8.2K neck and one of the magnets has been flipped for the Peter Green OOP tone I love!!I think the tone of this guitar kills: very resonant, woody and powerful with a lot of bloom, very balanced, the high B and E ring nice and fat with just enough brightness and bite on top to cut through the mix. You may listen to many audio/video clips on YouTube. My YouTube ID is "skydog46"!!I really hate to part with this guitar, and want to see her go to a good home!! There are two dings which I have tried to show in my pictures. One is on the edge of the moustache, and one just below the treble knob.I do not baby my guitars, I play them...there are a few rivet marks on back and other very small dings on the top all from normal wear and tear.I have a zillion pics of this axe so don't hesitate to ask if there is something in particular you'd like to see. This is an exceptional historic with one of the best and most vintage figure and finishes I've ever seen.Guitar weighs about 9.4lbs. I have priced it accordingly..I have the original COA, and will ship in a very nice SFK case. Schaller strap-lock buttons have been installed. This guitar will be professionally packed and shipped fully insured for $65.00.Payment Options:I accept the following forms of payment: PayPal. Ê
