Les Paul Guitars Auction: AWESOME! 1996 GIBSON CUSTOM SHOP LES PAUL! RARE COLOR!

AWESOME! 1996 GIBSON CUSTOM SHOP LES PAUL! RARE COLOR! Le Paul Guitar Auction Description: 1996 Gibson Custom Shop Les PaulExcellent Collector ConditionDamn this thing is cool! The Custom Shop really delivered on this one. Kind of a cross between a "Standard" and a "Custom" with wicked-sweet retro styling that is perfect in the full range from oldies rock-n-roll to modern pop-punk! Everybody says they wanna be different and unique, but they all seem to walk out of the music store with yet another burst or another black guitar! There will be no lack of "standing out" if you are playing this one! If you are familiar with the "Catalina" line from the late 90s, this is similar but has a regular solid body and a normal Les Paul script headstock (instead of that awful short-lived custom shop circle logo). Mahogany body, mahogany neck with a slightly reduced width, ebony fretboard with trapezoid pearl inlays, bound "Standard" headstock, kluson-style tuners, special pearloid pickguard and truss-rod cover, early Classic '57 PAFs (sweet), white trim and a seriously rare color for a Gibson! Ever seen one like it?The guitar is in excellent condition. There is a small scratch on the back and a small finish chip on the underside of the headstock (see pics) and a few other extremely extremely minor imperfections here and there that you may see if you give it your all to find them (that I only mention as a formality) - certainly nothing I could photograph. Seriously, the finish is in astonishing condition and like-new glossy. There are a few places where checking has started (hairline cracking in the finish), some around the screws on the tuners and pickups, with the largest being off the top of the rhythm pickup that I tried to show in the pics. This is not damage but rather an age-related artifact that lots of people pay lots of money to have Tom Murphy fake! The hardware is in great shape as well with a touch of that retro-desirable nickel patina forming (I always wipe down the hardware after use). It has been part of a large collection so the frets have seen very little play time and have no noticeable fret-wear to mention. Never gigged, always cased when not in use and at that - rarely played... and it shows! The neck is sweet and has a comfortable medium thickness, right in the middle but a little closer to 50's rounded than 60's slim. The width at the nut of the neck is just a tad smaller than a standard LP (about 1/16"). Ironically, it came from the Custom Shop with a standard-cut nut so the high-E string would fall off the fretboard edge during play. A new nut with proper spacing has been installed to alleviate this problem (I included a comparison pic with the original nut - you can't miss how close to the edge the original setup was - had to be changed). As far as TONE: 14 year old wood baby! This one has that sweet thick LP sound but with a little bit of a nice, tight snap to it. Great tight rhythms and very fast and responsive for solo work. ....and the older Classic '57s PAFs sound excellent!Auction includes custom shop case (and key) and the original nut. This is an extremely cool Les Paul that you won't see another like, especially in this condition, in long long time! A super-low Buy It Now, a ridiculously low Reserve, all from a reputable ebay seller... you can't go wrong! Specs and story as follows...Gibson Slash Appetite For Destruction Les PaulItem: GBLPSSAPCH1 The Axe That Launched a Thousand Riffs From his groundbreaking work with Gn'R, to Slash's Snakepit, to Velvet Revolver and numerous acclaimed solo and side projects, Slash has continued to embody the ultimate rebel rocker, putting addictive licks and eviscerating tone above all else, and throughout he has continued to do it on a Les Paul. To honor this achievement, Gibson introduces the Slash Appetite for Destruction Les Paul, a guitar equipped with the finest features of the original Les Paul Standards of 1958-'60, and the added punch of Seymour Duncan Signature Series Alnico II Pro Slash humbucking pickups. With looks to kill from a Grade AAA maple top with nitrocellulose "Unburst" finish, amber top-hat knobs, rosewood fingerboard with traditional trapezoid inlays, and Slash headstock graphic, and enhanced resonance from a TonePros Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece at one end and a high-density Corian nut at the other, the Slash Appetite for Destruction Les Paul is as prime a piece of eye candy as it is ear candy.Playability, naturally, is flawless, thanks to a solid one-piece Grade A quarter-sawn mahogany neck with Slash's preferred slim '60s profile, and the 12" fingerboard radius and 22 jumbo frets that have made Les Pauls notorious for big, meaty rock bends for more the past 50 years. All Slash Appetite for Destruction Les Pauls come with plush-lined hardshell case with silkscreened Slash graphic and Owner's Manual.Body and Finish Crafted from a Grade AAA maple top and weight-relieved mahogany body, the Slash Appetite for Destruction Les Paul is finished in nitrocellulose lacquer that replicates a beautifully faded vintage Les Paul Standard. The maple-mahogany combination and thin nitro finish help to bring the most out of these guitars, both tonally and visually. Neck and Headstock The guitar's neck and headstock are made in the classic tradition of the original 1958-'60 Les Pauls. Carved from a single piece of quarter-sawn mahogany, and topped with a rosewood fingerboard, the design incorporates Gibson's lauded 17-degree back-angled headstock, which contributes greatly to the instrument's resonance and sustain. Pickups and Electronics To Slash's own specifications, the Slash Appetite for Destruction Les Paul carries a set of Seymour Duncan Signature Series Alnico II Pro Slash humbucking pickups, which are made in the image of the original Gibson PAF humbucking pickups. From a rich, throaty wail at the neck position to a muscular, eviscerating roar at the bridge, these pickups offer all the tonal versatility that has made the Les Paul Standard famous. Their full splendor is transmitted via a Switchcraft selector switch, high-quality potentiometers with Orange Drop tone caps, and a robust Switchcraft output jack. Hardware In the image of the great Les Paul Standards of the 1958-'60 the Slash Appetite for Destruction Les Paul wears a classic set of hardware, all enhanced for the tonal standards Slash demands. A TonePros Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece offer uncompromising resonant coupling between strings and body, while a set of Kluson-style tuners combines an authentic vintage look with efficient modern performance.Specifications:Body Top 'AAA' Maple Top Back 'A' Mahogany Back Binding Antique Body Type Traditional Weight Relief Adhesive Franklin Titebond 50 Neck Species Mahogany Profile Slash Slim 60's Profile Truss Rod Standard Joint Angle 5° (+/- 15 seconds) Adhesive Franklin Titebond 50 Neck Fit Joint Mortise & Tenon Adhesive Franklin Titebond 50 Joint Angle Tolerance +/- .005" Fingerboard Species Rosewood Frets 22 Radius 12" Nut/E.O.B 1.695/2.260 Binding Figured Antique Inlays Acrylic Trapezoid Nut Material Corian Width 1.695 Slots Gibson PLEK System Headstock Inlay Mother of Pearl Logo Gibson logo with Slash Artwork Truss Rod Cover Black Antique Bell Tuners Model Tone Pro Kluson Style with Press-In Bushings Keys Crème Plating Nickel Tuning Ratio 14:1 Bridge Type Tone Pro Material Zinc Plating Proprietary Tailpiece Type Stop Bar Material Proprietary Plating Chrome Hardware Knobs Vintage Amber Top Hat with Pointers Toggle Switch Washer Cream with Gold Silkscreen Strings .010 - .046, Genuine Gibson strings Strap Buttons Aluminum Pickups Neck Position Alnico II Pro Slash Bridge Position Alnico II Pro Slash Electronics Potentiometers 2 Volume Controls, 2 Tone Controls Type 300k Linear Audio Taper Volume, 500k Non-linear Tone Capacitors 'Orange Drop' Capacitors Coil Wiring Machine Wound Toggle Switch Three-way Switchcraft with Antique Plastic Tip Output Jack Traditional 1/4" Finish Color Appetite Amber Sealer Nitrocellulose Process 1-1.5 mils Includes:Case Type Slash Hardshell Case Exterior Black with Slash Artwork Silkscreen Case Interior Plush Lining Accessories Additional Materials Owners Manual

Les Paul Guitars Auction: Brand New Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop VOS Historic G0

Brand New Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop VOS Historic G0 Le Paul Guitar Auction Description: You are bidding on a brand new Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop 1960 Reissue G0/R0. The guitar has never been owned, just new old stock. This guitar is currently nearly $4000 on musicians friend website. The significance of this model is it was a Guitar Center exclusive, inspired by a 1960 model that Guitar Center Hollywood had and featured in the book "Beauty of the Burst". According to Gibson Nashville, the guitar is a 1960 reissue (hence the R0 stamp in the cavity) but the nice part is the neck is slightly bigger and between a 60 and the 1959. It is very comfortable to play and has an amazing sound! The guitar has a beautiful dark burst finish that is light enough in the center to show the natural pattern of the maple top with even the hint of a little natural flame showing. The binding is a nice off white color that accents the body very nicely and breaks up the transition from the beautiful top to the red sides and back nicely. The guitar is overall in mint condition. The only marks on this beauty are two extremely light marks on the back that can be seen when tilted into a light. Most people wouldn't see them but I'm funny that way. They are so light you couldn't call them scratches, more like rubs. If you look at the back straight on, they can't be seen and could likely be removed with the right polish or wax.The guitar has burstbucker 1 and 2 pickups and sounds amazing. The covers and all the chrome hardware is aged nicely from the factory (VOS). I require payment within 48 hours of the listing end via Paypal. Thanks for bidding!

1999 Gibson Les Paul Custom 1957 Reissue Historic R7 Le Paul Guitar Auction Description: You might have seen this model in a gold top or black finish but this is a rare 1999 Gibson Les Paul Custom Historic 1957 Reissue R7 with cherry nitro finish. I spoke to Gibson for a couple of minutes about this guitar and everything checks out on it. The actual color name is faded cherry but don't get confused, this is not the cheap faded finish they now offer. This is actually the more expensive full gloss finish. The name just reflects the actual color not the finish type. If I had to rename it, trans dark cherry it a bit more fitting because you can see all the wood grain. The sound is just what you would expect from a high end Gibson Custom. It has that big low end with none of that muddy tone if you want to push the gain. Mids and low are really well balanced and ring out forever. Sustain is not an issue with these since it has that full mahogany non chambered body. Its all original and the Gibson Rep said these came stock with Burstbuckers to replicate the Classic 57 Humbucker sound. These really are fully loaded with ebony board, MOP block inlays, and frets are in great shape. The only thing it is missing is the cream selector switch but you can get those for a couple of dollars at any store. For condition I would give it an 8 out of 10. When I first got my hands on this one it was just in need of a good cleaning so I cleaned the board up and gave it a quick polish. I don't like to really clean these up to much because I know players like different products on the neck, board, etc. After a 5 - 10 minute cleaning this one will look great. It does have some buckle rash and a couple small dings on the back but if you have access to a buffing wheel you might be able remedy most of it. The diamond on the head stock has some tiny lines that are really faint and you might be able to see them in the headstock picture. I mentioned to the Gibson Rep that this one seem to have some bleeding of the color going into the binding. He said that on these reissues that is a common thing, he mentioned to leave it just be since it is only cosmetic and after some years pass the binding should age into a much darker color.I have the original Gibson Case with the manual and warranty card. I will ship worldwide but please make sure the country you reside in will accept a box that is 46",19",7". Please be able to pay within 48 hours after the auction finishes. To see my entire inventory of guitars at the lowest prices do a google search for recyclerock. I will only take Pay Pal for payment in full, payment must be made in 24 hours of auction ending. This is a link to Gibson.. http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul/Gibson-USA/Les-Paul-Traditional-Pro.aspx This 2009 Gibson Les Paul Standard Traditional Prohas never left my smoke free home, and has less than 4 hours play time on it,so everything is perfect, no scratches on the front, frets are perfect, everything is perfect. light belt marks on the back is the onlyway you can tell it has been played. These marks are not into the wood and did not break the paint. The slim 60's neck is great and easy toplay, nice smooth and fast neck. The case is as new. The specs from Gibson for this model: A gigging man's Les Paul with '60s slim-tapered neck and coil-splithumbuckers.Taking design and visual cues from the Les Pauls of the '80s and '90s, the LesPaul Traditional Pro features BurstBucker 3 and '57 Classic pickups withcoil-splitting, '60s neck profile, Grover locking tuners, antique binding,period-correct pickguard, vintage Gibson top hat knobs, and the revolutionaryPlek set up.With all the fat, sweet, snarling Les Paul tone that purists love, the newGibson Les Paul Standard Traditional Pro sports a mahogany bodywith a thick maple cap for the perfect blend of warmth and clarity. The top isfinished in high-gloss lacquer, while the back, sides, and neck have a smoothsatin finish that feels great and lets the wood resonate fully. Each Les PaulTraditional also comes with Gibson USA's standard black snakeskin case. Locking Grover tuners keep your Les Paul in tune like you will not believe. Period-Correct PickguardThe creme-colored pickguard has been a Les Paul staple dating back to themodels of the late 1950s and the early 1960s. Many players, however, removedthe pickguard from their Les Pauls to show off the beauty of the flame mapletops, moving Gibson to stop installing the pickguard altogether. During the1980s and 1990s, Gibson began reinstalling the pickguard in the factory, andthe Les Pauls from this era once again arrived in stores bearing the classic,creme-colored pickguard. The Les Paul Traditional comes equipped with aperiod-correct pickguard, designed to protect the maple top.Pickups: Neck - '57 Classic; Bridge - BurstBucker 3Among the qualities that make Gibson's original "Patent Applied For"humbucking pickups so unique are the subtle variations between coil windings. For the first few years of their productions"1955 to 1961"Gibson's PAFhumbuckers were wound using imprecise machines, resulting in pickups withslightly different output and tone. The BurstBucker 3 and '57 Classic Pluspickups are the result of Gibson drive to capture and recreate thischaracteristic. Introduced in 1992, the '57 Classic provides warm, full tonewith a balanced response, packing that classic Gibson PAF humbucker crunch, inspired by those original PAFs that received a few extra turns of wire. Bothare made by Gibson to the exact same specs as the original PAFs, includingAlnico II magnets, nickel-plated pole pieces, nickel slugs, maple spacers, andvintage-style, two-conductor braided wiring. Gibson added poly-coated wiring, which improves consistency by eliminating thick or thin spots on the wiring, and wax potting, which removes all internal air space and any chance of microphonicfeedback. Both pickups offer coil-splitting for single-coil sounds viapush/pull switching in the volume controls. Coil Tapping The bridge and neck pickups can each be split via their own push/pull switch on the volume knob to achieve a single-coil tone. This coil-tapping function allows you to instantly achieve brighter, snappier tones from this humbucker-loaded guitar, to replicate the sounds of other classic guitars equipped with single-coil pickups, and to return to the Les Paul Traditional Pro's thick, warm, powerful, full-humbucking tone at the push of a knob.Tuning Keys The headstock of the Les Paul Traditional Pro is equipped with chrome-plated Grover Locking Keystone tuning keys. With a gear ratio of 14:1, these tuners deliver precision tuning in a durable housing that provides maximum protection for the gear and string post. All moving parts are cut for exact meshing, eliminating the possibility of slippage, with a special lubricant inside the gear box for smooth and accurate tuning stability.Revolutionary Plek Set UpThe Les Paul Traditional is the first model from Gibson USA to utilize therevolutionary Plek machine in setting up the guitar. The Plek is a German-made,computer-controlled machine that carefully measures each fret, along with thefingerboard height under each string, and then automatically dresses each fret, virtually eliminating string buzz and greatly improving the overall playabilityof the guitar. This pioneering process does in minutes what it takes a luthierseveral hours"sometimes even days"to accomplish. Every fret is accuratelyaligned, and the guitar is properly intonated, leaving the instrument "Plek'd"and amazingly playable.Antique BindingTo see the process of putting the binding on the Les Paul Traditional is toreally appreciate the effort and attention that Gibson puts into eachinstrument. A lone craftsman will carefully glue and fit two pieces of bindingaround the entire body of a Les Paul. He then winds a single, very long pieceof narrow cloth around the entire body until the entire surface is nearlycovered. The body is then hung to dry for a full 24 hours before it isunwrapped and moved into the next phase of production. It has been done thesame way for over 100 years. Some question the value of adding binding, butGibson believes it is a fundamental part of our rich guitar-making history. Thebinding adds elegance to the Les Paul Standard, and helps protect the edges ofthe body. The neck binding is installed over the fret ends, which eliminatessharp fret edges and provides for a smooth neck and easier playability.Body Style: Non-chamberedTop: Carved mapleBack: MahoganyNeck: Set mahoganyNeck Profile: '60sHeadstock: AngledScale length: 24-3/4"Fingerboard: Bound RosewoodNo. of frets: 22Nut width: 1.69"Inlays: TrapezoidBinding: AntiqueBridge: Tune-O-Matic with stopbar tailpieceTuners: Locking GroverHardware: ChromeBridge pickup: potted BurstBucker 3 humbucker with coil-splittingNeck Pickup: '57 Classic with coil-splittingElectronics: 2 volume with push/pull coil-splitting, 2 tone, 3-way togglepickup selectorKnobs: Vintage Gibson top hatsPickguard: Period-correctCase: HardshellOther: Plek Set-upI will only ship to US Continental address only, please do not bid if you areoutside of the Continental US. Les Paul Guitars Auction: 2001 Gibson Custom 1960 Reissue Les Paul Lemon Burst

2001 Gibson Custom 1960 Reissue Les Paul Lemon Burst Le Paul Guitar Auction Description: 2001Gibson Custom, Art & Historic 1960 Les Paul Reissue For all of you who have followed the evolution of the legendary Les Paul and for those of you who have searched for the Holy Grail... Put down your sword and pick up your axe! In the early 80's, Gibson saw the demand for Vintage Les Paul's rising and responded with the first reissues known as the pre-Historics. However, it was not until 1993 that the Historic Collection was introduced. Models included the '54 Black Beauty, '56 Goldtop, '57 Custom Black Beauty, '57 Goldtop, '59 Flametop and the 1960 Flametop Reissue. The 1960 Reissues are the rarest of the Historic series Les Paul's. Identical to the 1959 Reissue except the 1960 Reissue has the slim tapered fast action neck. In 1997 Gibson upgraded to a AAAAA Eastern Maple Top. This kind of wood extremely rare and highly sought after as the perfect tone wood. In 2000 the Lemon Burst was introduced. Gibson officially discontinued this model in 2000, but built and shipped a few near the end of 2001. R9 production was limited to 500 units in the US, 1000 worldwide due to "parts constraints". The 1960 Reissue was built in far fewer numbers. In 2001 a limited number of guitars also had Brazilian Rosewood fretboards. This 2001 Gibson Historic collection 1960 Les Paul Reissue is one of the very few that were built in late 2001. It is extremely rare and beautiful. It has the Lemon Burst finish and an awesome FLAME MAPLE TOP. It's this kind of raw wood, "the good wood" that captured the mojo of the legendary Les Paul Standard! Found in less than 1 in 1,000 trees, this kind of Flame Maple is very hard in texture and reflective, capturing stress between the flames of grain and producing a loud, powerful projective sound. For the true Les Paul warrior, it's all about that FLAME and that warm woody TONE! You may search for a lifetime, but you will not find another Flame Maple top like this one! KILLER, 3D, BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL, not a dead spot anywhere! This is a beautiful guitar, the perfect color with a dark, dense fretboard and a KILLER TOP! This guitar is a work of art and, weighing in at 8 lbs 9 ozs, this guitar is very light and resonate. The pickups are the original 57 Classics and it doesn't get any better than that! This beast really ROARS with plenty of soul and the purest, warmest and deepest LP GROWL! This guitar is a players dream and a collectors prize. It comes complete with the original hardshell case. The frets have been dressed and polished and the action is set low and with the slim profile neck - You will love this guitar and you'll play better than ever before! This guitar is in near mint condition, upgraded with Hoveland caps, everything else original. It looks like mint to me, but I'm calling it near mint just to be safe. Les Paul Guitars Auction: Gibson Les Paul Standard 1996

Gibson Les Paul Standard 1996 Le Paul Guitar Auction Description: Up for grabs is this all original 1996 Gibson Les Paul Standard. It is the dark burst with a beautiful flamed top. Honestly this guitar is very close to "like new" condition. It has barely been played, just kept as part of my collection. The pickguard was never even installed, so there are zero drilled holes on this. I have the original brown gibson case(the orange plastic has not even been pulled off the lock) and the warraty card. Please feel free to email me with any questions or if you would like to see any other pictures. You really need to see this one in person. Good luck bidding!!!!On Aug-30-10 at 12:24:08 PDT, seller added the following information:The neck profile is medium, which is the only way the 90's Standards came. They weren't doing 50's/60's necks at that time. It is very easy to play. The action is set quite low without buzzing.

2007 GIBSON HISTORIC MURPHY AGED 1959 LES PAUL FLAMETOP Le Paul Guitar Auction Description: 2007 GIBSON HISTORIC MURPHY AGED 1959 LES PAUL FLAMETOP You are bidding on a beautiful and rare Lemonburst 2007 Gibson Historic Tom Murphy Aged 1959 Les Paul Flametop offered for sale by the original owner. Guitar looks sounds and plays great! 2007 Historic Les Pauls are thought to be some of the best made because of a great batch of wood that was then available - I really just trust my ears - this is a good one that's why I took it home in the first place. Guitar comes with all paperwork and case candy and includes the original brown Lifton style case (no longer available). The flame is very "3D" as you can see in the pics. The aging by Tom Murphy is spectacular! These R9s are made by Gibson to be very close in specification to original 1959 Les Paul Models: Carved maple topFinish checking on body, neck, and headstockAged Single-ply cream bindingAged Nickel hardwareSolid, non-weight relieved mahogany backThin toggleswitch washer and jackplateABR-1 bridge and stopbar tailpiece1-piece mahogany neck with long tenon22-fret rosewood finger boardAcrylic trapezoid inlays (accurate shape and color)1959 rounded neck profile24-3/4" scale1-11/16 nut widthHolly headstock veneerVintage tulip tunersBurstBucker pickupsCTS pots and bumble bee capacitors2 volume, 2 tone, 3-way selectorIncluding Original Case with the Certificate of authenticity and all the Case Candy included. This guitar is 100% ALL ORIGINAL and in MINT condition, even though it doesn't look it! While a genuine vintage instrument is a thing of beauty; a guitar aged by Tom Murphy is a thing of wonder. Especially when you realize that this process is done one guitar at a time... by hand. It literally takes months to age a guitar from beginning to end, so you gotta know that they can't just crank these out one after another. They are very limited, very rare and highly sought after and Tom's expertise is obviously noted when you hold one of these in your hands. This guitar comes complete with the original hardshell brown Lifton case, the "goodie bag" containing the Vintage Reissue cord and care kit and all the original paperwork, including the AGED HISTORIC REISSUE CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY, signed by Gibson General Manager - Rick Gembar, Historic Program Manager - Edwin Wilson and Historical Finish Expert - Tom Murphy. If you are a Les Paul collector and you don't have this guitar, then you don't really have a Les Paul collection. If you could only have one electric guitar, this should be the one. Grab this one at a great price!
